I got them on Gunbroker for $175-$200 apiece. They are both in good functioning condition. They were made by FEG in Hungary. They are based on the Walther PP/PPK. I would say they are in between the two in size, though someone may correct me. They have alloy frames and steel slides. The sights are small and the DA triggers are a bit stiff, but they are fun to shoot out to snub nose range.

The first is the AP9 in 32acp. Its frame is silver-colored, with dark grips and slide.

The second is the SMC in 380acp. Its frame is dark.

I have an FEG High Power "clone" in 9mm that I bought in 1988. It's still a good shooter. I thought it would be fun to have a couple of their smaller Walther-inspired pistols too. They are fun to shoot and have a classic look to them.

I like those, and at that price I’d be tempted myself. I’ve been eyeballing the Hi Power clones too, everything I’ve seen and read has been positive.

Two decent, serviceable Walther-like semi-autos and at a great price too! I tried a FEG SMC years ago but couldn't get past the heavy DA trigger.

Ap9 is one I’m drooling over. I don’t know why I’m drawn to 32 acp lately. They are anemic balisticly but I want another.
I too am being drawn to the 32 acp, recently got a Mauser HSc, which is a great little pistol. Also been drooling over those FEG's on gunbroker, some were made by FN.

I have one in .22LR, the AP22, imported by Interarms in 1998. The .22LR ones are all-steel. Horrendous DA trigger pull, but excellent build and quite fun to shoot. One in .32 would be cool.

I have the FEG PA63 in 9mm Mak, basically the same pistol as the .380 version. The PA63 was made for military/police use along with civilian sales. I have to agree that the double action trigger pull is HEAVY! People say that a good set of springs from Wolff will help. I think I paid $120 out the door for mine 15 years ago.

Thanks for the nice comments. I have never owned an original Walther PP or PPK, but I own or have owned similar pistols. The CZ70 was the most awkward and unpleasant to shoot, due to the balance and shape of the grip. The FEG AP9 is my favorite. It has good balance and is easy to point. A relative talked me out of the first one I owned. The one above is my second.

Gentleman is right as far as he goes. FEG made 22's with both a steel and an aluminum frame (SMC 22). You will enjoy your purchases. Mine in 380 is a joy to pack and controlable with factory loads.

Cool old pistols! Congrats. I love the old European pistols in .32 and 380 and have several. Have fun with yours and shoot'em like you hate'em.

I can attest to the difference the Wolf springs can make. The hammer spring is super easy to swap out. With factory east bloc 9x18 steel case ammo I get some misfires firing DA depending on brand / which spring. Some misfires even firing SA with one of the lighter hammer springs and Wolf ammo. Academy's Monarch brand seems to be the most relaible, but still not quite good enough for self defense use.

But using U.S. primers in converted 9mm Luger brass (or U.S. made Hornady XTP factory ammo) reliability goes way up. I'm still working through it but I'm getting there.

I too had the SMC 380. I could get accustomed to the trigger but the slide bite was turning my hand into hamburger. Shame to get rid of it, was a spot on shooter.

My buddies P9r is a nice gun, but did have a couple issues. The trigger hinge pin was walking out of the frame until we fitted it with a c-clip to hold it in and the factory FEG magazine followers would not allow the slide to release with the lever. Browning mags took care of that problem.
We also upgraded it with a Wolff spring kit, removed the mag safety and polished the action and trigger. Ain't gonna lie, it will outshoot my FN T-series now. Good HiPower for the price. I wouldn't mind finding one of the nickle plated Mauser-branded SA80 versions.

All else being equal, I would prefer the PA63 to the Mauser HSc. The latter is just too darned tricky and too much of a "gadget gun."

I had a cluster of failures with my two FEG pistols over a few months that made me think perhaps 9X18mm was too powerful for the design.

These blow-back pistols generate a lot of crud in the action. If you don't clean the extractor spring regularly, it and the plunger can seize, allowing the unsupported extractor to fly off into the boonies when fired. This happened to my BR61. Then shortly thereafter the trigger guard/slide stop broke. About that time, the ejector on my PA-63 broke.

This happened a few years ago, and over time I was able to replace all the parts. But I seldom shoot them now since parts availability has dried up. They are nice guns and I like shooting them. The BR61 in high gloss blued finish is especially nice.

So I bought an AP 7,65 as a shooter. It literally looks like someone drove nails with grip butt. .32 ACP is a lot gentler. I don't have a high round count, but so far no problems. It shares the family trait of good accuracy and hand ergos.

For my 9x18mm jollies, I bought a Polish P64. Even with a Wolff spring replacement it doubles as a hand exerciser. But it's beefy, the extractor alone is twice as wide as the FEG. Seems like it will hold up better.
