Texas... finally
I have one on order with my LGS. Well, actually, it's in. But in this horrifically anti-gun state, I need to wait for permission slips to pick it up.

So, in the interest of passing a little time, does anyone else out there have one? How do you like it? Does yours have a particular affinity for any specific ammo or will all of it work? How does it carry for you? Have you changed anything on yours (I have a set of Badger Boot Grips sitting on my desk, waiting patiently)?

Thanks in advance.

I have an SP101 in 9mm. Shoots fine. I've shot only 115 plated RN in mine so far, same as I shoot in my 9x19 semi-autos.

Mine has not liked non-domestic reloaded cases. They were a bit big in areas that caused the revolver to bind when cocking. So I stick with domestic company head stamps.

I've had a little problem finding moon clips of the proper size for a reasonable price but I have not looked again in the last couple months.

I do not have one, because I detest the idea of speed strips.

That's ok because this revolver uses moon clips...

Awesome. I'll make a mental note of that re: brass. I appreciate the input.

I passed on a minty blued 3" Ruger (Security Six?) 9mm years ago at a GS, with much later regret. Ever since have had an itch to get one like it or similar. I like the platform and ammo commonality with 9mm pistols.

I've had a 9mm revolver however it was more a target/competition gun. It wasn't for me. I'm pretty excited to get a hold of this and carry it with me around the house. I love the Ruger revolver and honestly think that they have better triggers out of the box at this time. I do plan on doing a trigger job on this when it shows up.
And, I didn't want to miss the chance to own one of these. I've passed on a few guns over the years that I should've bought and have regretted missing several of them. Didn't want this to be the case... again.

Mine was a 9mm with a 3 inch barrel. Shot ok but always way below point of aim. Tried several different loads but none worked any better. Had to change out the stocks to a Hogue since the standard ones allowed the trigger ring to bash my middle finger to pieces. Finally tired of it and sold it.

I had an earlier one in 3" and this about sums up my experience too. ( I would add that the trigger was hard to get decent as we..)
Hopefully the OP's experience is different since already committing.

I have a spring and shim pack on the way. I'll be swapping the grips out for Badger Boot Grips (they're already here). I also plan to change the front sight out shortly. Probably go with a "XS Big Dot" so I can actually see the darn thing. I may take some sandpaper to the warning label and such as well. We'll see how bad it is. I think it's under the lug now from what I have seen. It'll be nice if that can wait a minute. If it's on the side of the barrel... it won't wait.
