My son found this buck skull cleaned by nature & killed by the bad joke:
Why did the buck cross the road?
I have one skull of a small buck I got years ago that I did in all black with
this same stuff called -Plasti Dip- because it was left in the solution too long
& slowly began to dissolve over time, the cover has lasted more than 5yrs so far.
Then when my son gave me this one I figured why not seal it like the black
one except this time I used the -spray cans- which made it easy for a 2 tone job.
Going to put it inside the barn out of the sun.
It feels like a -rubber cover,- even thou the can name says it is a plastic cover.
Probably been done before but just sharing it with you in case you have a
skull mount going bad or just want something different. Red Deer.JPG

A popular method around here is natural antlers, with the skull hydra-dipped in a camo pattern. Thinking about doing my next one like that.
Thats what got my buddy to paint that ram head camo. Since the horns come off it was easy for him to do a decent job of it...too bad my dogs got it

A found skull like this one is ok for trying different stuff or even the same for one I have killed that
is done as a skull mount which begins to fall apart, then the only thing to save it is to seal it.
All my horns are capped with horns in tact or they are mounted. Unless they were shot thru the head.
I never disrespect the ones I have killed, which is a contradiction in itself I guess. But I don't hang
hats on them or anything like that. I still have most of the skull caps inside a glass cabinet.
Guess we are a lot like the creature in the movie - PREDATOR -. The one that saves human
skulls in the same way.
