I would stick with your 243 and Barnes TTXS bullets. With a well placed shot will kill any whitetail that ever walked. My son starting at age 12 has killed a boat load of SC white tails with that caliber and load

I've been hunting for more than 25 years and I've never given BC or SD a single thought. I'm pretty sure none of the deer and hogs I've killed could tell the difference either. A hunting bullet is a hunting bullet to me. Bullet weight, composition/build type, and speed are the only factors I look at when choosing a hunting bullet. I've yet to have a shot longer than 150 yards, so BC means little to nothing to me.
You replied to my first post that hogs might also be on the menu when I spoke of using them on thin skinned Bambi. Since you used to hunt them, you “should” know that hogs aren’t armored like some people make them out to be. Shot placement is the key factor. You just have more angle options with a 45-70 than you do with a .223. But a 270, 7-08, or a 25-06 will all get the job done equally as long as you’re not shooting really light ballistic tips.

Are you hunting pronghorns out west? Hunting black bear in Wisconsin? Shooting Mule deer in the Dakota's? In order, your three choices are perfect for each application.

Of those I would pick the 7mm-08. We've been loading the 120g Sierra Pro Hunters over 44g of Varget for quite a few years now and it almost always drops deer in their tracks out to 300 yards. One of my sons has taken them even a bit further than that. Also ridiculously accurate in a standard Savage.
