Ruger 10/22
Howa HCR in 223

Was looking at a savage axis II with hardwood stock in 308, but I've realized I need more bookcases and will probably get a nice barrister bookcase instead.

Depending on who wins the election tomorrow, might order an AR15 from PSA.

I hadn’t thought about this in a LOOONG time. My aquisition bender has been firmly set on revolvers. I’m transitioning a SAA to a carbine, so it will be getting some love real soon. So it’s kinda in the middle. I keep looking for a 223 rifle barrel for my contender, so it’s in between too.

The true long guns...the guns with a name are the ones that are special.
My 22, my grandmas 22, my grandpas 22, my wife’s 22, my father in laws 22, my kids 22, my 22 that I found and resurrected (ugly duckling), my grandpas 30-30, my first centerfire .270, dads marlin 62 .256winmag, my marlin 62 30 carbine, .223 ar carbine, my first full on AR build 6.8spc.

I need to add a 35rem and a 7-08 to this list. Next year goals...

Impulse control?? I call it lack of focus. I could never make up my mind on what I liked the most. Even when it came to collecting milsurps, that’s why I have guns from over 20 countries, and two ex-wives.
I can relate. I have decided that in the revolver realm I need to add to the collection by finding brands I don’t own yet. I’m buying 4 H&Rs tomorrow if things work out right. I already own a sportsman, but this gives me a swingout variety (Times 4)

Gunny, ex-wives cost way more than guns. I learned to grovel many years ago and start my days with an apology for whatever I'm gonna get wrong by lunch. This has allowed me to keep my net worth intact for just the 45 years that I've been married. Even better, she just shakes her head at my purchases...but then I don't quibble about shoes, clothes or other purchases on her side.

Cheers,

PS-I should note for completeness that my real hobby is SKIing (that is, Spending Kids Inheritance, and my worst nightmare is that my bride will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them...:-D

I never apologize for being myself, and have a habit of not changing my ways. I meet a nice woman a few years ago, she was very sweet, and I liked her a lot. When she saw my gun collection, she said that she didn’t think I should have so many. It looked like we were going to have a problem, so I fixed it. I still have a lot of guns and no third wife.
I wish I could be like some of y’all, that is, have a loving and understanding wife. But for now I will just look forward to my next gun purchase.

Good on ya, Gunny. Keep embracing the suck (as Uncle Sam's Misguided Children all do). We USAF-types also cherish our air conditioning.

I was once asked what I would do if I found a rattlesnake or scorpion in my tent. I replied that I would have called room service and asked who put a tent in my BOQ room and would they come and get that S**T out of my room so I could get a good night's sleep.

I have a working assortment, consisting of (scoped) model 700 Rems .223 (2), .243 (1), .270 (2); 2 Tikkas (.223, .243); a CZ with .22 Mag and 17 HMR barrels and a bunch of .22LRs.

All have had some form of accurizing except the Tikka T3 Lite .243, which is fine right out of the box, but with a Leupold Mk2, 3-9X, my favorite scopes.

Wow. Those are some amazing collections with so many contrasts.

Here is Very humble family after selling several:

Enfields: #5 "Jungle", pair of #4/Mk. 1s,
AKs: AMD-65 (TGI), Maadi (Intrac), SAR-1, MAK 90,
Romanian .22 M-69 Trainers,
Savage .22 (40s or 50s vintage).

A friend has a walk-in 'code panel' armored vault with about 100 surplus rifles, in exc. or near-mint condition; for example, Enfield #4/Mk.2 in factory paper bag.
Kind of ironic that his only carry gun (must fit in pockets) is the Polish P-64? He has no modern handguns or rifles.

Not nearly as much as I would want. Next addition will likely be a 12ga pump.

Built AR15
Marlin 336 in 35Rem
Ruger 10/22

About 30 long guns ( too many for a group photo) including an all matching Mod. 96 Swedish Mauser that's pretty nice which is down at the LGS for sale on a consignment deal. Dropped it off last Friday, he hasn't put a price on it yet but he gets 20% of it for the consignment fee. I'm retired and I just gotta thin out the collection because I don't have as much storage space as the Gunny.
