I won a North American 5 shot 22 derringer & a Henry 243 single shot rifle, want to trade-in @ dealers for Ruger MK4 Hunter 22......what could I expect the fair trade value to be? Thanks guys!

Unless the guns you won are already on the dealer's shelf, they will be assessed as used, since they have been previously transferred. Where I worked, raffle guns that were already in our inventory (not yet transferred) would typically be "taken in" at cost - 10%, against asking price of current inventory or a special order. If these are already in your name, I would try to unload them at a gun show as unfired, at a price slightly lower than what they are tagged at the show from dealers.

If it were through me, I’d say $175 for the NAA, and $300 for the Henry, that is usually what I can get them wholesale for. I would do $165 difference on the regular grip, $200 on the laminate.

The guns have NOT been transfered to me yet, if that makes a big difference!?!?

Expect 50% or less. Better to sell them yourself and go buy what you want

The Henry... pretty sought after but not hard to get. Should bring cost less 10%. The NAA not nearly as sought after and easy to get. Expect more value reduction because it will eat up some cost by sitting in inventory. I would venture a guess of about 400-450 between them.

Best bet is to find the best price on gunbroker, before shipping and transfer, and use that as your decision point. Caliber on the Henry will play a factor.

Heck, I'd be interested in the Henry, if the price is right. At the moment I have my eye on a Tikka in .243 but might pass on it for the Henry, again, if the price is right.

Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Not worth trading in to a dealer. You'll lose too much money. Sell them on Armslist or at a gun show.

If they've not been transferred then ask the dealer/store currently handling them what he'll give you for them if you get the gun you want from him. Expect wholesale or that minus 10%.

You were spot on-dealer gave me $475 for the 2 guns-traded for a Ruger MK4 Hunter @ $630 so just paid difference-good deal I thought!!

I know that the two gun dealers that supply a lot of the raffles in our area will give you the cost price against the cost of the firearm you want. As long as you're buying something a little more costly.

To a dealer? Most experience I’ve had is shop owners will completely undervalue your gun. Sell it direct to the buyer on gunbroker
