Morning all, I was paging through my old issue of a 2000 Gun Digest, and this cause my eye. "New" Colt Survivor Revolver, Multi-caliber, accepts 9x18, 9x19, 9x23, 9mm Largo, 380 ACP, 38 Super, 38 Spec +P, 357 Mag. 5 shot, Introduced in 1999.

Has anyone actually seen, had one of these? What was it like, could it really fire all those rounds, and how was the accuracy of said hand gun. Not much in line of pictures of this rare race horse for sure, or info for that matter.

I seem to recall a similar revolver called the "Medusa Model 47". I wonder if Colt planned to badge engineer it and sell it as a Colt?

Sounds like another Colt dream that never went anywhere. It would have been a good companion piece to my 256 Win Mag Python.

I don’t believe it made it past the prototype stage.
Hmm, you may be right. Kinda like Ruger when they announced the sale of their XGI rifle. I have seen the ad for it in some old issue of Gun Digest somewhere in my collection. Still, it would have been one heck of a gun if it worked.

Ian from Forgotten Weapons has a video shooting one of the Medusa revolvers and the caliber flexibility does not result in good accuracy and also requires some design features that are more trouble than they are worth.

They never made it into production. The same people that made the Medusa were tooling up to produce some of the components for colt and they already committed funds to tooling and colt backed out of the civilian firearms market. Lawsuits from liberal cities caused the decision which in turn caused Medusa to go out of business.
