Does anyone still make a bolt action rifle in .300 Savage?
I’ve been looking for one for a little while, they just don’t seem to be available locally. There ar3 a few on gunbroker, but they are kinda expensive, and I don’t like the idea of paying that much when I can’t pick up the gun and inspect it.As stupid as it is, I dislike the .308, and like the .300 Savage.....
Personally I'd try dig up a remington 722 in said .300
Or you can build one easy enough should you be inclined.
I’d like to have one of those in 35 Remington. They were very cool. I wish they’d bring them back.Don't know about a current bolt action in 300 Savage, but them old remington model8's and model 81's in that flavor are wicked cool if ya can find one.
Not sure the single locking lug would be up for it.Could one set back and rechamber a Savage 340 in 30-30? it's needs 0.052" setback to clean up a 30-30 chamber. Cheap as chips and, relatively, a lot of rifle for it, albeit an underwhelming trigger. 300 Savage in a 340 Savage? Cool.

Not .22 HiPower? Lol.

Ahh, thanks for the correction. My old man has an 81 in 300 Savage ,thing is awesome.Off the top of my head the 300 was not offered in the 8 only the 81. Really with just a few changes they are the same.
But I doubt we will ever see the likes of the 8/81 or the savage 99 ever offered again.....they are just too expensive to make. To me the 99 is the best looking lever gun, but I know that view is not common.
I have an 8 in 30 remington, and an 81 in 300 savage. The 30 is much nicer to shoot....both guns have a little bit of meat to them but the 300 feels like it is really pushing the gun to its limits....to the point where it is just a tad un pleasant to shoot....I have not rolled my own 300 yet, but I do tend to down load in the older guns.....300 is out there, several boxes on Bass Pro's shelf.....After I get a supply of brass I will try some of my own.
