What feature makes these look "tactical" to folks?
Is it the threaded muzzle? That's just a place to put a suppressor, plenty useful for non-tactical applications.
Is it the paracord sling and lever liner? Goofy I'll admit, but not really tactical. I haven't really ever seen an AR duded up in paracord, maybe more of a prepper thing?
Ditch the sling and lever liner, and it's just a matte black lever gun that comes with basic black furniture and a rail for long eye relief scope mounting, able to take a suppressor without expensive custom gunsmith work.
Seems more practical than tactical to me.
In much the same that the 10/22 is found useful by so many with its sights or aftermarket ghost rings, those of us who prefer a scope appreciate versions with an integrated rail. Won’t be for everybody, like heavy barrels or carbon fiber, but the utility of the Marlin is there which I can appreciate.
Slights aimed at those who find interest in what does not suit you ought to have rational backing. Barring that, they’re simply Low Road insults. We aren’t discussing a 32” pencil profile barrel, just an easy to scope and suppress lever gun with utilitarian finish. If I pick one up I promise not to fox hunt with it.
Thank you!!!
I really tire of the narrow-minded, short sighted nonsense about "tactical" or "tacticool". It honestly reminds me of a certain group of people of a certain political persuasion that loves to label and judge people who disagree with them. Must be something in the water. Personally, I think people just like being critical.....of anything. Lots of glasses are half empty.
There are a lot of folks with suppressors these days and more and more folks are hunting with suppressors. Myself included. So more often than not, when I'm looking at guns, a threaded muzzle is a consideration. Leverguns are actually excellent suppressor hosts as they are a manually operated action and often chambered in subsonic-friendly cartridges.
I have also come to greatly appreciate the utility of having iron sights in addition to my optic. Optics can and do fail but sometimes you just want to swap things around.
It's a matte finish with a black stock. Have we never seen that before? I mean, seriously, of all the things to gripe about.
An uproar over the paracord? Gee, I wish I had a dollar for every part I took off a new gun and threw in a box.
I got an email today about this and all I have to say is STOP! Just please Stop making everything with those stupid paracord bands that isn't really paracord and would snap with 10lbs test. Stop painting everything black and putting a bunch of rails on crap just to look cool. Its a freaking hunting gun and should be designed and equipped as such! No one would hit a dog in the rear end with some of Remington's new offerings, so freedom group has to jump on the tacticool bandwagon. The reason they didn't make that monstrosity in 45-70 is because the recoil would break all that plastic BS.
Carry on!
That's a really uninformed post. This is the first time I recall seeming paracord on a new firearm. Ever.
It's parkerized, pretty sure that's not a new thing. Neither is the black painted stock.
The rifle has ONE rail. It's on top. That's where optics go. This one is particularly long which allows for virtually anything from a red dot to a scout scope or a conventional scope.
Don't see any plastic, BS or otherwise but it is chambered in .45-70 (ahem).
