I have a real nice model 13 with the 3 inch barrel. Not using it much anymore and might sell to my local shop. Just wondering what a fair price might be these days? I would say it is in VG condition, hardly a mark on it. Has the box and original grips. Cheers.

Gunbroker or Guns International might give you a frame of reference. You can also post at Gun Values Board and see if any of the "experts" have an answer.

I can only help a little. 2 3" model 65s have sold for $800 in my area in the last month.

I'm not sure how the stainless 65 compares to the blued 13 value wise across the nation but around here, stainless guns are worth a bit more because of the heat and humidity.

Your local shop won't give you as much for it as one of us will-- try the classifieds here! The Standard Catalogue agrees with earlthegoat2 above, with box and a 3" barrel would be upwards of $800.

As AZAndy pointed out you're not going to get nearly that much selling it to your local gun shop. Try listing it here in the Classifieds or else show it around at a local gun show. Also you can see if there's a local gun shop that will sell it on consignment.

I paid $600.00 for one a couple months ago. 13-4, 3" barrel, round butt, box and papers. Nice condition, but not perfect.

A dealer would probably give you about half of that.

(I know this is a week or so old, but I just saw it.)

You got a great deal. In my area, and on gunbroker, any 3" K-frame 357 magnum in decent condition brings more than that.

3 inch K frames are pretty hot right now. The prices on them has climbed rapidly over the past couple years. With box & original grips a nice model 13 should easily bring around $650 -700 and in some areas as much as $800.
A shop would maybe give you $400, but I bet it's more like $35. If your gun shop sells on consignment, tell them you want $575-$600 and he has room to make some money and you don't have to deal with it, but you get more than $350

I had to pay $700 for a shooter grade 3" 13-3 a few months ago. Seemed excessive at first, and I almost passed on it, but they just don't come up for sale too often.
Yours will easily fetch more
