What Gun Does This Ammo Go With?

Close to 30 mm.

Are self contained Artillery shells that size bottlenecked and rimless? The ones I have seen were rimmed and straight.

That’s a pretty piece of wood. Nice workmanship too. I’m not sure of the dimensions, but it does look a lot like a shell like my great aunt loaded at the munitions factory a few decades ago. It was for an AA gun but I don’t recall which one.

How about a 3” 50 caliber. Used as an anti aircraft round.

Thats pretty cool! The dimensions don't match anything that I've found. It would still make a cool display.

How long is that 37mm cannon shell? I found two references, both giving different lengths, this one says 9 3/4" inch long. http://www.p63kingcobra.com/m4_37mm_auto_cannon.html.. What is on the table is the size of Naval shell. What two to three feet Artillery shells are rimless and bottlenecked?

I know there are at least two different 30mm cannon shells. The ones used on the Apache and A-10 are very different.

They are larger.

The case for a 30x113 feels like a conventional rifle case. The 30x173 feels like it was machined out of billet.

There is no need for any big gun to be rimless, but there are many, many bottle-necked cases.

There is also the very similar 37mm that went with the automatic cannon, M1, that was semi-rimmed.

1-3/16 = 1.1875 = 30.1625mm

Probably out of order here. It is obviously a wooden 'replica' of a rather large loaded cartridge. It may or may not correspond to anything in the real world. Sort of like an 'artists conception' of a real item.

I’d call it a 1080 Finwick.

If you wanted to sell it, the 2700 super magnum velsorataptor sniper super subsonic, might be a better choice.
