Buying Ruger for Grandchild

My last couple were builds using Brownells parts, which probably cost more than buying a new rifle. The local Big-Five and Sportsmans Warehouse have the best prices around here on a stock 10/22 for non-FFLs.

I would search for 10/22s in your local area. Throw some business to your LGS’s.

I bought my Grandson a Ruger 10/22 Takedown. I replaced the stock with an Adaptive Tactical stock just to “wow” him.

I also got him a couple more 10 round magazines so they fit in the buttstock.

That link is to a Remington (597) “10/22 Style”, not a Ruger. CDNN usually has a few models in stock at good prices. Otherwise Bud’s for selection, or Brownells for a meaningful experience. I started one of my daughters building her first AR this week. Beyond the rifle is a better understanding of how it works, what every part is called, and spending one-on-one time on a worthwhile project. Another daughter will be starting a 10/22 build soon.

Your LGS can be a good resource for all things shooting related. If at all possible, I would buy locally.

By the time you deal with shipping and transfer you might as well buy local.
