I got my arm twisted yesterday and ended up with a new Colt Cobra, 38 Special. I haven't shot it yet, but first impressions, naturally are than I like it. No, it doesn't have the classic Colt Blue that my 1981 Detective Special has, but the matte SS finish is nicely done, and should be pretty much maintenance free. The "goodyear" grips aren't as nice as wood ones, but do provided a nice secure grip and who cares in they get banged around a little. The trigger is really nice. The fiber optic front sight just jumps out at me. I usually paint all my sights bright orange anyway, so I feel right at home with it.
Some crappy pictures.
To give you a size comparison, here it is with it's prettier sister, a 1981 Detective Special, and it's smaller cousin, a Smith and Wesson 642-2.
You know, for a guy who doesn't care much for "snubbies" I seem to have accumulated a few recently.
