What are everyone’s thoughts on the Kel-Tec CMR30 22wmr semi auto rifle? Is it worth $430?

Ben looking for a decent semi-auto 22wmr rifle that I could have cut down to SBR and add a silencer too.

Any Thoughts? Suggestions to a different rifle?

I want one but I’m not sure I’d hang a can on it, even a lighter .22. For that I’d consider the CZ 512 Tactical or maybe the Savage if you’re into traditional looks. Although a PMR/CMR combo is likely in my future.

My wife's cousin has one and he loves it. He won it at a banquet and was kind of non-plussed at the time, but ever since he took it out and shot it, he's been hooked. It's a treat to shoot; recoil is almost nonexistent. Even my recoil-sensitive son enjoyed it. I don't know what you want to use it for, but on the range clanging steel, it's a blast. The magazine says it holds 30, but he's can't get more than 22-23 rounds into it because the spring's so tight. We just had a shooting party at his house this last weekend and it was one of the popular guns that everyone had to try out.
I suspect that it would be pretty easy to put a silencer on it; the barrel's threaded and ready to go.

But isn’t that made in a former soviet block nation? While Kel-tec is made in the USA?
I want something made in the USA.... want to keep jobs in America.

Yes they are made in the Czech Republic and Turkey. Many Soviet bloc countries didn’t become part of the bloc voluntarily. The Czech Republic was one of them. In 1968 there was the, “Prague Spring” wherein the Czech people in essence rebelled against Russia. The Soviets sent more than half a million troops to the Czech Republc to quel the revolt.

Everything being equal I’ll buy U.S. manufactured product instead of foreign import. But to me it’s seldom the case and I believe the 512 to be better quality than the CMR30.

I have spent time in Turkey! Interesting country, and the work they do is good, they do take pride in their work as a general rule. Their are lazy stupid people in every country sadly.

I will Czech it out and see about that firearm. (Pun intended lol) Maybe an FFL near me has one to see.

Just took a look at it.... I was wanting more of an AR version of a 22mag... the CZ 512 looks awesome though. Although big!

Also does it have mags available capable of 25 rounds or more? Or just 10?
