My son-in-law recently acquired a .22 bolt-action rifle that we are trying to identify (sorry, no photo). Description:
The magazine is a removable box-style type
The fore end on the stock is grooved
The stock is recessed to accommodate the bolt knob
The bolt knob is knurled and hollowed out
The rear sight is adjustable and the blade folds
The safety is a swinging Mauser-type
Immediately in front of the rear sight on top of the receiver are the following (and only) markings:
UMC 2
1972
U-2851
