I've been struck at how there seems to be so much more 9mm brass on the ground at the club where I shoot.
For reloaders that are currently buying 9mm ammo due to current low prices, do you pick up your brass or do you not bother? That's one thought I've had. Or maybe the non-reloaders are just shooting more since ammo is so cheap. And certainly they're going to leave their brass on the ground. (Our club doesn't have brass buckets and doesn't make a big deal about leaving stuff on the ground.)
I started loading 4-5 years ago, when the last shortage was going strong. I remember not being able to find ANYTHING then, components OR scroungable brass. (I was at a different club then.) Consequently a 9mm case on the ground still looks like a gold nugget to me. The last 5-6 range trips I've told myself "Don't grab brass. You've already got more than enough." And what do I do each time? Pick up more. Today I think I shot 180 rnds and came home with probably 600 cases. And I still left a ton on the ground.
It seems like just within the last few months the volume available on the ground has really gone up significantly.
