Dang, I use I was not bleeding so much from recent firearm purchases or I would jump on this 20" Semi. Have had the 1200 field and has been a terrific shotgun for me for all around use. No longer shoot birds, have even though about have the barrel cut down. Few parts, light weight, always reliable.

Too bad that the field 1200/1201 has a small barrel ring, effectively preventing mag tube extensions. I'd love to use it for 3-gun but now it's a waterfowl and spare shotgun for me. A very nice and reliable one at that.

If I ever chose a semi-auto in riot configuration that Beretta would be high on my list since I don’t like mag extensions at all.. I much prefer a four shot tube for close quarters work - but that’s just my personal opinion. Add a butt cuff with five extra rounds and a sling... I’d be ready to go on the street.

After writing this I checked out the used offerings cited above and realized that none of them appear to show a four shot tube... so back to the drawing board for me...

The 1201F has and can be plugged to two round capacity. Much like all standard length S90/Montefeltro/Centro/etc. tubes regardless of barrel ring diameter. AFAIK, 1201FP large ring tube is 5 or 6 rounds.

I got 3 of the black on plastic trade-ins from a gunbroker seller a few years ago for a little over $300/ea (maybe as much as $350, can't remember exact amount). They looked like you'd expect from a issued gun that rode around in the trunk of a car. All cycled 1 1/8oz 2 3/4dram cheap birdshot w/o issue, something that I had read that they may have trouble with. Recoil is rough, but not as bad as a short 870 (18.5" 870 is not for me...). If I ever run across a deal on the choate pistol grip stocks I'd be all over that.
