For anyone that does not have this classic, this is a good deal.

Bud's has (had?) M&P 9mm turn-ins, so I'm wondering if the supply of model-10s will dry up at some point ???

Picked up one of those from Bud's awhile back, think it was around $300 total for everything, including shipping and transfer fees. I like it! Glad I bought it.

gone are the days of police trade in revolvers. 10-15 years ago police departments were switching to autos, and model 15 were as cheap as $150. i should have bought more of them.

Howdy

I found this 10-5 about 10 years ago. Best deal I ever got in a S&W, $125 out the door. I have always assumed the hand stamped numbers on the frame are a police armorer's inventory stamp.

Police guns (except range guns) get carried a lot and shot little. They often are worn or even rusted on the outside but like new inside. If you just want a reliable gun and not a safe queen to admire, they are a great buy.

Wish I would have picked up the one I saw going for $200 at a gun show a few months back. Hemmed and hawed about it for a bit; was gone when I went back inside.

Yup, if you see a K frame going for $200 or less, grab it, unless it is obviously a dog. Most I see these days are going for $450 or more.

Several years ago I got a minty Model-19 police trade in in a trade at Bud's. Still have it. IIRC, the cash price was $195.00.
