I had one. The pin on the top of the slide kept coming out in 50-100 round range sessions. I thought it wasn't durable enough for defensive use.

Don't have a XD45(I have a SR1911 CMD for that "role") , but I do have a XD357 Mod/Gen 1, If an XD45 is anything like it, I would say it's GTG despite what ever the "detractors" say about them.

Xd mod 2 fr the win in a 45. I liked the first so much I bought a second for the nightstand. That way one is a holster ccw set up with a flush mag, and the other has the 13 round mag for more grip space and a light/laser combo for hd. I like that my wife and I then have the same mags.

Both are great in accuracy and reliability. Triggers are fine. I shot them better vs the milspec 1911s I had, so I went from having 2 1911s to having 2 mod 2s instead.

I never knew an xd 357sig variant existed, man that would be a phenomenal combo.

The only problem is LEM itself. It really is still a DA/SA.

No, not really.
If the slide never cycles its a DAO gun. Once you chamber a round its like any striker fired gun, only in this case its the hammer that is pre-cocked, not the firing pin. So in fact its really neither.
