Wanted to relay that Bill Cheatham passed on Dec 11'th at 83.

Met Bill back in '89 and that was the beginnings of my interest in custom knives. Good job Bill! He served the LEO community and was a great knife maker. He'll be missed.

The big one is the wedding cake knife that he made for our day. The smaller is one I picked up later and have carried it off-on.

Each year that generation becomes smaller and that also includes some of the dealers and collectors we'd see. Those people bring so much and they pass the torch over to others to carry on. Expected yet sad when they leave us.

I believe RA40 said that he was 83 when he passed; not that it occurred in 1983.

That rough hammer forged look is really cool. Almost looks like knapped flint. Anybody that can pull that off so elegantly surely was a master, and an artist.

Buck knives had a limited edition folder with David Yellowhorse doing handle embellishment and this chipped flint style blade. Bill became known for doing this style blade. I don't recollect the time span on these.
