Guns in 9mm not available in .40 S&W that you would buy if they were?

Maybe a Glock 22 Gen 5. I have a G23 Gen 4 that's a great gun. Or if they came out with a G45 size frame gun in .40, that would be nice. I hear LEO's like the shorter barrel while driving

"If Ruger would come out with a blued Blackhawk convertible in 10mm, .40S&W 4-5/8” barrel I be a buyer on that also."

I would like to have one of those!

None.

I don't buy pistols that way.
I find a platform that works for me.
Caliber is what ever it is.

Nope. Got rid of my .40's before it was cool. I didnt/don't hate it or anything. It was just a casualty of caliber consolidation.

Not a single one. Not to derail the thread with 9mm vs .40 vs .45 vs 10mm nonsense, but .40 just isn't a caliber I'm interested in.

None. Went through my .40 S&W phase with SIG and Glocks quite a few years ago.

Not a 9mm vs. .40 S&W thread, I swear on all that is holy. I am as sick of those threads as most of us.

Another poster stated in another thread that they would buy a certain pistol if it came out in .40 S&W.

Which got me to thinking that, yeah, there are some pistols out there that if they were offered in .40 S&W, I would buy one ASAP.

First is the Glock Gen 5. If they come out with a Gen 5 G23 or G27, I would get one.

Second is the Hellcat. A 9-round .40 S&W version would be awesome, as would a P365.

However, due to the current atmosphere of discrimination against the .40 S&W, more manufacturers are choosing to ignore consumers who still favor the cartridge.

What pistol or pistols would you buy if they came out with a .40 S&W version?

CZ-75. I love the way that gun feels in my hand. I think they used to have a model in .40 but dont anymore last time I checked.

I figured it would happen, lol. Same as any thread regarding Glock pistols. No matter what the question is, there is someone who always has to chime in with a comment about how Glocks don't fit them, or they are ugly, or they hate them.

And I broke down since creating the thread and bought a P365 since I decided twice as many 9mm rounds was better than 6 rounds of .40 S&W.

Glocka.... are fine for what they are.
Some people just try to fit the square peg in a round hole.

Original Post:
I want a steel frame, exposed hammer, full size pistol in .45 ACP that's not a 1911. Any suggestions?

Response:
Buy a Glock 19. It's the best.

That misses on 4 out of 5. I'll give you that it's not a 1911.

Only pistol I can think of that I would possibly want to buy in .40 if it were available.... P08.

Seeing as that pistol could barely shoot 9mm reliably, I don't think that the P08 will ever be made into a .40S&W version.

I like MikeInOr's idea, but stchman is right. So I suggest making the New Century Luger in 357 Sig. I think the bottlenecked cartridge will assist feeding.

That deserves a whole new thread, lol.

One of my pet peeves are threads and responses exactly like that. The other is when people ask for advice on a new pistol, then a couple of pages later announce that they made a choice and purchased a new pistol, then people continue to offer suggestions on what they should buy without reading the entire thread.

But yeah... "I am looking for a DA/SA in .357 Sig with an overall length of under 7", and with a safety..." "Ruger SR9".

Monac. Any of them. Anyone that is being produced. Prefer a striker fired with a rail tho. Glock 19 size in 9x18 would be perfect. And a g17 size in 762x25 would be good

I guess I really don't have a huge desire for 9x18 in G19 size platform.

Maybe an RM380 in 9x18.

I have YUUUUGE hands. the glock 19 is the smallest i can carry and shoot good. All others are way too small. Tho a shield with the longer mag in is pretty comfortable. I know they make a 9x18 barrel for the 42. But that thing is way too small for me. I still have big iron worker hands.

What guns do you wish were made in 9x18, Robbins290?
I'm not Robbins290, but I'll answer:

Beretta Cheetah series. My second pistol was a FEG PA 63 in 9x18, and before long I picked up an East German Makarov, CZ 82, Polish P64, and Russian doublestack Mak. I enjoy the size, the recoil, and affordability of these smaller pistols. For the longest time, I lusted over the smaller Berettas, but didn't want to add an overlapping caliber (380) that I didn't have any other guns in.
I've since picked up an 81 in .32 acp, which works since I have other .32's.

Walther PPS M2, built pretty stout for 9mm only- It was originally slated to come out in 40 but the sudden loss of interest by the buying public forced the cancellation

I know, I'm being that guy, but I haven't seen a 40 cal pistol yet that I wouldn't like more in 9mm.

On a more constructive caliber-changing note, I'd love to see a single-stack Glock 48 in 45 ACP. The internet rage wars comparing a poly-striker so directly to the 1911 would be unending, but if you combine a 1911-ish grip with the unstoppable feeding of a Glock, you might really be on to something.

And while this one's not a hypothetical, the CZ 75 series are commonly thought of as a 9mm pistol - but have you ever tried the CZ 97s in 45 ACP? Freaking sweet :). I like them even more than the 9s.
