Guns in 9mm not available in .40 S&W that you would buy if they were?

Not a 9mm vs. .40 S&W thread, I swear on all that is holy. I am as sick of those threads as most of us.

Another poster stated in another thread that they would buy a certain pistol if it came out in .40 S&W.

Which got me to thinking that, yeah, there are some pistols out there that if they were offered in .40 S&W, I would buy one ASAP.

First is the Glock Gen 5. If they come out with a Gen 5 G23 or G27, I would get one.

Second is the Hellcat. A 9-round .40 S&W version would be awesome, as would a P365.

However, due to the current atmosphere of discrimination against the .40 S&W, more manufacturers are choosing to ignore consumers who still favor the cartridge.

What pistol or pistols would you buy if they came out with a .40 S&W version?

I would be tempted by a Sig P225-A1.

If they still made them, and I don't think they do.

And if I could find a .357 SIG conversion barrel, which I probably couldn't.

I kind of like the Mossberg MC1, but really don't want another 9mm. If they ever chamber it in .40 I'd have me a new EDC.

If Sig had produced 100% German Sigs in .40, then all three of my Sigs would be in .40.

Because of my (former) brand-new 2017 Sig M11 having an 'issue', I sold it, then bought three Sigs which were 100% German.
The German Sig designers didn't try to "fix something which wasn't broken", i.e. extractors.

Hmm, not a big fan of .40 in general but a reliable .40 version of my Valkyrie CCO might be OK.

Then again I would probably just finally get a .38 super barrel instead.

Nope. Got rid of my .40's before it was cool. I didnt/don't hate it or anything. It was just a casualty of caliber consolidation.

To explain farther the 9mm/.40 Shield is just on the small side of what I shoot well. The .40 is significantly slower so if I were to buy one (I won't because I can't shoot it) it would be the 9mm.

The .45 Shield Platform I can shoot but they offer only one caliber.

The M&P M2.0 Compact 4" I can't tell the difference in .40 and 9mm. It takes just over 1.0 seconds to put 5 rounds in the 7 ring at 5 yards with either. I bought the .40 because it was cheaper, is a slightly larger diameter and I don't think 14 vs 16 rounds is significant.

The point is, how would I know until I test fire it?

I recently bought a Glock 48. I chose it for the platform (single stack that fits my hand well). If it becomes available in .40 I'll buy one in a heartbeat.

No .40 S&Ws in my gun safes either. Tried several different ones over the years and didn't really find anything that was a good fit for me.

Will stick with my 9mm.s, .38 Supers, and .45 ACPs for the time being.

I have a Sig M1911 chambered in 40 S&W. The M1911 makes the 40 S&W a pussy cat to shoot.

I also have a Beretta M96 chambered in 40 S&W. It shoots well but I really do not like shooting it.

Years ago I was big into .40 and I have 3 guns in .40, two Gen 4 Glocks (which were basically built to shoot .40) and a Sub 2000. Only other .40's I have thought about have been used steel frame Kahr's or Sig's. Does that mean I have lost interest in .40? No, I have lost some because 10mm is getting more popular, but I still think .40 is great for a variety of reasons, but I don't need half a dozen .40's, nor 9mm's.

Only caliber I have a lot of guns for is .22.

I've only owned one 40 cal. A Beretta Cheeta that I shot very little. It was fat and heavy but the rotating barrel lock up was cool. But I liked the round. I was just looking at PD turn ins on Aim Surplus. They had Glock gen 3 NOPD turn ins for $250. I am tempted.

But I don't know of any gun in 9mm I would want in a 40 cal. I think the semi auto market has out paced me.

A RIA 1911 :). I know there are other 1911's out there in .40 S&W but I specifically want a cheaper one in .40 S&W - and that's only due to technicalities in USPSA rules for Single Stack division.

Outside of competition, I typically prefer 9mm and so if I've got my choice I get that. Most of my non competition 40's have been guns I ran across a good price on that I couldn't pass up (which is becoming more and more common as PD's surplus out their .40 guns).

Edit: Well heck, apparently they DO make one now: https://armscor.com/firearms/ria/rock-series/rock-ultra-fs-40-sw/
