I must have this gun....

Which buttons didn't it push, ECVMatt?

Well, being a gun whor....enthusiast, I have lots of buttons that get pushed. I would also like to see a similar model off of the GP frame, as much as I like blued guns I can see the utility of stainless steel, A Bowen Rough Country sight for the SP frame would be great, other calibers, and the list could keep going on.

All in all, this is a beautiful little gun!

Does the left side look as nice? I wonder if they've made the *billboard* more subtle too.

I'd certainly have kept mine had it looked like the one you are showing.

That'll be beautiful with proper, leather holster-wear in the future.

Todd.

I've had mine for 6-7 years now, fired it a lot, mostly .38's. Dubble action trigger is too heavy in my opinion, but single action about right . Full power 158 grain loads aren't much fun, so I only shoot them once in a while. Otherwise great gun. hdbiker

I'm sorry but for all that weight (SP-101) it should be a 6-shot, like the Kimber or the Mag version of the new Colt. That being said, the last time I checked Ruger hadn't ask for my opinion so I'll fold my tent and be on my way. (smile)

Pretty.

Except for that godawful tall front sight, which makes an old half nickel sight look small. :p

Ruger once upon a time knew how to make a pretty blued finish, though. Not Royal or Master blue, of course, but decently polished and with an even luster. Always a nice choice. I have an early New Model SBH from '73 that has a very deep blue/black finish that's highly polished and lustrous, which was unusual for Ruger back then. That was one of the things that drove me to buy it when I saw it in the display case (aside from being a seriously enthusiastic handloader of .44MAG in my younger years ;) ).

Luck to you.

I agree with MattECV. The gun should be offered in stainless and I would like to see a GP version offered in 3" bbl. also, in .357 and .44 SP and maybe 10mm. Also, the Kimber cylinder dia. is 1.39" and the SP 1.35 so if one increased the diameter slightly, the SP could be offered in a 6 shot version. I really like the 1/2 lug with 3" bbl.

The newer SPs have the "billboard" on the underside of the barrel. At least mine does. A lot less offensive than on the side. OP, that's a fine looking revolver.
