I must have this gun....

Gonna have to go dig around in the ammo stash. It has been so long since I shot any 38 spl or 357 mag that I'm not sure I have any. Used to shoot boatloads of 148 HBWC. Doubt I have any.

I'm sorry but for all that weight (SP-101) it should be a 6-shot, like the Kimber or the Mag version of the new Colt.
My thoughts exactly.

I have an SP-101, but at the time I acquired it, the others had not

Re: GP100 10mm

The last few gun shops I've been in had lots of 10mm ammo. Not much of anything else.

Just sayin',

I think this would go real well with my blued/walnut/half lug/5"/357 gp100! I wasn't to sure about the sight config on the GP, which is the same as this sp101, but after I did a little sanding on the brass bead I absolutely love it.

I talked to two Lipsey dealers today, both called their distributor, and these are out of stock now. They are expecting to receive some more at a later date. I’m on two lists now if and when they do receive more. I was quoted a price of about 670.

that price doesn't sound out of line at all. I paid 690 for my GP and that was the cheapest place I could find it at the time.

I cleaned the new 3 inch SP101 and got to the range to shoot it today. I had very little 38 special or 357 ammo so I did not put even 50 rounds through it. Can't find any ammo either. After the first five 38s, I had trouble opening the cylinder but never again. No other issues after about 40 rounds. I shot one 357 through it. Recoil was stout but not painful, (especially after only one round.) I could only find six 357s (silvertips) that used to reside in a GP100 so I saved the other five for woodsbumming this coming week. I used to go through a lot of 38 specials and I can't believe I don't have some still. I may have to get my reloading equipment down from the attic. I'll try to get my daughter to take some good photos although it looks just like the one on the Ruger website. It seems lighter in weight than I remember SP101s being and I think I am going to like it for woodsbumming.

Nice! I too am a SP101 fan.
So far I have two, a 22 and a 357. Both SS. I also have a 4” 100, but like to shoot the 101 more.
