Howdy everyone

Here is my question, Would changing from Hornady large rifle primer brass (6.5 Creedmoor) to Starline Small rifle Brass make a big difference in group size if all other things were equal? Same bullet, charge, primer, oal

Don't think so, good chance you would have to work up the load again. Seen some videos were the srp in the cold had missfires with some powders.

I tend to agree with that only reason I question is I tried some srp brass and across the board my groups tightened up a couple were so good I didn’t want to shoot 5 shots I did anyway
Pics don’t mean a thing but here is a couple of groups at 100 5 shots

I could see the primer pockets holding up better with the srp. But if the srp are working for you is use them.

If your shooting in extreme cold you may see a difference, LRP better. The SRP is what I have and you can push them harder than you can with LP and not stretch the pockets. You may see a slight change in velocity numbers, < 25fps. But that could just be the powder temp change.

I agree with this. If that brass is a deal you might want to grab it, but plan on having to tweak the load. Saw a lot of this sort of thing shooting super, using rifle primers.
