Anyone have issues on a Hornady LnL AP with the primer being stuck after going through recapping die

No matter how much I adjust the decapping die down, the primer will "hang" and get wedged into the drop tube. Usually a little shake of the shell plate will release the primer letting me complete the down stroke. The shell plate isn't advancing forward prematurely so I know it's not that. It's happening like 1 out of every 5 cases or so. It's the one last hang-up I've had with this press before I can really start cranking stuff out.

It could be this,

@Walkalong, @jmorris, and several others told me, take the punch pin and round off the end of it with 400 grit or 600grit sand paper and they will quit sticking on the pin.
CCI's do this to me the worse.
They look like they are already rounded off but there is a shoulder on there if you look close enough.

They are sticking on the pin and when you drop the plate they are landing back in the primer hole of the case and sticking there.

extremely annoying.

I tried what they told me to do and it really helped a lot. Something else that also helps is a RCBS universal decapping die with the spring loaded punch pin. It shoots them out of there, but I decap before cleaning so I'm not burning up a station using this die while loading.

This is probably the issue.
These work well and are good to have on hand. You will break your de-capping pin occasionally.

It’s a sizing/decapping die and I’ve tried adjusting both
I would try moving that pin down just a bit further. Rounding the tip of the pin as others have pointed may also help although I have never experienced that issue. I do use a Lee decapping die with the squirrel daddy pins in it though.

Loading 9mm?
It's the only round that has ever caused that issue for me.

Mine is the .40 cal, the other 10 or so calibers I load for or at least use the LnL to size and deprime cases with don't hang up but the .40 brass hangs up often. I have rounded off the primer bunch, squared the punch and everything in between to no avail. Every once in a while it will tick me off again and I will spend some time on the issue but have yet to figure it out.

Re-profiling the pin is the only thing that's worked for me. I've started using the RCBS spring loaded universal deprimer die since I wet clean. The spring in it is week if your doing crimped primers. The fix was to install a stronger spring. I used a old spring from a AR, and cut it to length. Now if one is really tight it will launch the spent primer big time, but it no longer damages the spring.

I have only had that problem with brass that had been washed with the spent primer intact. When I stopped washing brass, going back to my walnut media tumbler with additive, the problem stopped. it was as if the wash had glued the primer in place or made it sticky. I don't deprime or otherwise handle dirty brass more than necessary. I also don't clean primer pockets, obviously, but that is in a handgun context.

I have RCBS dies and needed to adjust the decapping pin of the sizer die quite a ways down so the primer would fall free of the shell and base plate. The drop “hole” had some gunk in it too so make sure it’s clean, either run a pipe cleaner or hit it with one shot cleaner so the primers drop freely. Good luck!

Ordered the Dillon .38/357 sizing die today. Thanks everyone. Didn't even know these things existed.

Got the Dillion .38/357 sizing die on Saturday. Ran a few shells through it and cool.... Also ordered a couple of the RCBS spring loader decappers. Not sure they'll fit any of my dies, but I thought I'd try them. If they do great.

Had just loaded 1,000 .38spl, so I wasn't doing any more, but I just might have to do another 500 for fun.

Those Dillon handgun dies are slick.
