Does any video show how to install original, thin grip on S&W 5906?

The old, thick Hogue has been removed. The new type arrived from Midway. Designated for 5906 etc.

At the bottom of the gun's hammer strut, its original squarish black plastic tab--which holds the strut--won't allow my 'new' replacement grip to go on. Different design.

It appears that after the gun grip's pin gets removed, the bottom of the hammer strut will need to Somehow go into the bottom recess of the 'new', thinner grip.

There must be a technique which shows how the strut can be held in place by this one-piece grip?

gc70: Thanks Very Much!

It was 'dense' of me not to have searched for a total reassembly video.
In the second video at 13:14, he makes it look pretty simple.

Having changed an original hammer spring in my Sig P6, I didn't want any sort involved struggle involving a clamp, gripping vice etc to be necessary.

They are pretty easy to change. After watching the video, it's like a 5 min job. You will need to remove the Hogue block that holds the strut. That is integral on the SW grips.

It's finished, less than 5 min.

Glad that the strut stayed firmly in place on the hammer. And the bottom "cup" (tiny "cylinder") which holds the strut's bottom, easily went into the recess in the new plastic grip.

Again, it's at 13:14 in the second video.

Amazingly easy. And after the new grip was in place, the roll pin did Not require a punch to fully insert.
