Underwood ammo

Agree it’s excellent. Especially like the lighter grain stuff that gives me more zoom per second. Most of my defensive ammo for 357 sig, 40 and 10mm is Underwood. When I ever need to replenish the 9 and 45 stockpile I’ll probably get it too.

You can’t go wrong with Underwood Ammo. They have some +p ammo for 45LC that is only safe for Rugers and Thompson Center, a real handful but fun !!

I haven't purchased any Underwood handgun ammunition but their hunting rifle ammunition loaded with Nosler Accubond bullets gets top marks from me in .243 Winchester (90 grain 3200 fps mv), .25-06 Remington (110 grain 3250 fps mv), and 7mm-08 Remington (140 grain 2950 fps mv).

I have only used their 38 Super. It didn't meet the advertised velocity in any of my 3 Supers. I contacted Underwood. They told me to keep the rest of what I had, and replaced the order at no charge. The N/C replacement ammo was at least closer to advertised velocity, but sure can't complain about their customer service:thumbup: I would order from Underwood again.

X10 for Underwood ammo.

In 40S&W, you can get 165gr Gold Dot bullets that run 1200fps. (I tested these and they don’t over expand). Also in 9mm you can get 124gr Gold Dots loaded faster than any factory round. Underwood always seems to hit their advertised velocity numbers too.

I use Underwood Extreme Cavitators in my .32 ACP. They function just fine and are much better than using FMJ foe defense. Only downsides I have seen are that you can't buy them in town, and they are pricey.

Have you looked at Reed's Ammunition and Research in OK? If you don't see what you're looking for, just ask is their motto.

I have some Geco 124 grain FMJ .38 Super +P ammo with a published muzzle velocity of 1411 fps. I don't own a chronograph so I don't know if that holds up in the field. The web site lists 150mm = 5.9 inches barrel with that figure.

I have been using it in 9mm and 380 for the pas 6 years. No issues at all with JHP, Extreme Defender of Extreme Penetrator.
Same..Xtreme Defendr..9mm and .380..I 'test' the ammo fairly often, since it's my carry ammo..I buy a box of new and shoot the older stuff..never had any failure, ever.
Glock 17, 26, Glock 42...

Mr. Zorg, just came across your post #17. I haven't looked into Reed's Ammunition. Ref. the GECO 124 38 Super, it averages approx. 1350 FPS in my pistols with 5" barrels. The more recent ELEY 124 38 Super, loaded in Super Comp cases, averages approx. 1390 FPS in 5" barrels. These are the warmest factory 38 Super ball loads I am aware of.
