A couple of weeks ago I read a few favorable reviews of Underwood Ammo of Charleston, WV. I like to support small businesses and these folks looked like they produced some interesting ammo for very reasonable prices. I decided to make a purchase and here is the chronograph data from a few types of their ammo.

The weather was overcast, 60 degrees F, 85% relative humidity. The elevation of the range was ~590 feet MSL. All velocities are in FPS

The first ammo is Underwoods 95gr +P JHP fired from my Beretta 84B w/ 3.8" barrel

Overall I'm very impressed with Underwoods ammo. I just ordered their 40S&W 180gr +P and 45acp 230gr +P Gold dot loadings that I will run over the chrono when it arrives.

Wow, it looks like they aren't playing with those loads. I may have to try some. Their prices seem pretty reasonable.
I would like to see how some of the 9mm loads perform.

Uh oh. The speed haters will be in shortly to tell you how your guns will blow apart.

You probably saw my 1500 FPS 9mm video?

Here is one today of some SwampFox I did. If you haven't already please visit Underwood's site and write a review. I know for the .380 nobody has Chronographed it. Would be nice to add that!

They can hate speed all they like but a Gold Dot at 1300 fps in any caliber has to make a nasty wound and it holds together, enough, for penetration too. I wouldn't mind a 147gr 9mm GD load at around 1100 fps either. I wonder how my BG 380 would hold up to that 380 load. I don't think I'm willing to gamble with that one.
