New rifle on its way to me!

Howdy everyone I just want to start a thread to talk about the new rifle I just bought!


It is a savage model 12 VLP in .223

26 inch barrel (it’s a very heavy barrel profile I hate the term bull barrel it’s so overused)

1:7 twist

accutrigger

I can’t wait to get it! I’ve loaded some Sierra 69 grain bthp’s over benchmark powder I’m excited to see what it can do!

My reloading mentor Has one and it shot one of the best groups of my life so here’s to hoping

Will do won’t be for about 3 weeks sadly but hey I can dry fire it a lot!

I am very happy with the new rifle!

I broke the barrel in yesterday and all I can say is I think she will be a shooter first group I tried with a middle of the road charge of IMR 4320 no less was under an inch!

Now you are making me want to get a left hand Savage varmint barrel in .223 to match my 17m2, 22lr, and 308.
