Handguns, the gun you have with you when you can't carry the .50 BMG or the .375 H&H rifles with you lol. What is your favorite handgun cartridge(s)?

.38 Special and .45 ACP take the top for me. I'm a bit of an old soul at heart so I love the classics.

Note: Please exclude rifle cartridges like 45-70, 30-30 or any other that the BFR is chambered in. After all, they're still rifle cartridges, just in a handgun.

.32ACP: Soft shooter, highly accurate.

7.62x25: Fast, old, big flame, and soft shooting.

.45GAP: Powerful, accurate, fairly rare.

Hi...
Favorite is probably .41Magnum...
Shoot most all the popular handgun calibers and some that aren't so popular so I have a bit of experience after 40+ years.
Second favorite is probably .44Spl followed by .45Colt, .357Magnum and .44Magnum.

Couldn't begin to count the tens of thousands of those rounds sent down range over the decades.

The .44 Special is closest to my heart. The .45 Colt, in all honesty, is a more versatile cartridge. "If I could only have one handgun" it probably would be chambered for the Colt.

I hope to live to see the .50 Special as a factory cartridge. If Ruger would "mainstream" it like they did with the .480 (a ".50 Ruger" wouldn't bother me at all) then I would be a very happy camper.

Not in order but .22, 380, 9mm, 38/357, 40, 45 ACP, 44 mag, 7mm BR works with your criteria because I don’t own any rifles in the caliber.

I have lots of others but they don’t get used much, 40 is pretty much a USPSA limited round for me, I shoot lots of .22’s, rifle and pistol, same goes for 9mm other than them 45 ACP is up there as far as round count goes.

.22 LR is what I have shot most over the years. Now I also shoot several flavors of centerfire as well. Next in line would be 38 SPL/357. Next 45 ACP. Next would be 44 MAG/SPL. I shoot a lot of the others but these are my most practiced with calibers. I bet I could fill an 8 foot bed in a pickup with the lead I have shot over the years now that I think about it.
