Loaded the truck and went to the range today. Main reason was to check out my new Rise trigger in my Anderson AR and to sight-in with a Sightron Reddot. I must confess that the sight gives you fast target acquisition. I could bust claybirds consistently at 50 yards. The Rise trigger is breaking at about 3 pounds. Nice and crisp. I am really pleased with it. All in all, I put 80 rounds through the AR with 2 hick ups. Both were the last rounds coming out of the mag.
Then the little Glock 42 got a workout. I like to carry it, but I need some time for any shot over 10 yards. May go back to a SIG.
I was disappointed with my new Colt 1911/22. It is finicky about ammo and needs some good HV ammo to function. The sights are almost useless. They are fixed and can only be moved horizontally. I had to move it over a 1/8" to line it up and it is still shooting too low. I have to hold about 3 inches high at 15 yards to keep it in a 6" bull. My old Ruger 22/45's with shoot rings around it. It will probably find a new home.
We are supposed to go shoot our 500 yard range this week. I get to break out the Bergara. Really looking forward to that.
