Yes it’s ho-hum. No, it won’t win any caliber wars. I do hope this new tube will be filling the freezer come Fall. With Youth Season around the corner it is high time to put up the kids’ ARs for a bit and get them familiar with the tools that feed them. I’ll be swapping barrels back to muzzleloader when my Season starts, but I think this second fiddle option will suit the young-ins fine.

E. A. Brown for those who don’t know is extremely dedicated to all things T/C. This 350 Legend barrel comes from their Custom Shop.

Probably shoot factory for awhile since it’s just a shorter range hunting rifle. Truth is I’m not sure where I want to start with this one, it was almost a spur of the moment purchase and before I could talk myself down it was ordered. I am curious enough about the accuracy potential to know that dies are soon to follow. If it weren’t for fishing today I’d be at the range making noise.

Grab yourself some Hornady 170grain Interlock ammo and try them. My 18" AR shot this group at 100 yards and the bullet was from water jugs at the same distance. Stopped in the 5th jug. They went 2230ish across the chronograph.

My AR had severe feed issues but I got them figured out so I'll have it in the woods with me this season. Your TC won't have those issues obviously. Good Luck with it and give us a review of how it does.

For sheer ammusment 147gr xtps over a max charge of lilgun or h110 become varmint bullets.....Hit a jug of water with those, and it makes an impressive explosion. It also makes jello out of pig brains.

Ive got a pile of the 180 powepoints, but the 170 hornadys produced similar accuracy results for me as well, nearly the same velocity also.
If the 165s dont do it for me, ill be back to the 170s after i run out of powerpoints.

its neat that brass cassed winchester blasting ammo is only 2 bucks more expensive than .223/5.56 fmj here.

Well I guess I'll have to pull out the old Super 14 .35 Remington with the 2x Leupold Scout scope on it. I used it for deer and pigs since 35 years ago , haven't for 15 years ! i also have a .357 Max 10" barrel with iron sights (the old long range ones used for IMSA in the 80s) now thats one earwax gun with 180 grain Speers at 1800-1900 fps ! I got banned from a range because it was too loud ! :)

My apologies, I was pursuing other interests this morning!

Looks good! Is that a Bushnell scope?

Yes indeed. Currently pondering which Bushnell to throw on the Win Mag. New one that is, the rest are all spoken for.

FISHYS!!!!!!!!

Brookies...? In the Hawkeye state.?

Oh yes, and, as it happened, the only on a double limit (wife’s and mine) that was wild. I catch more than my share in Waterloo Creek but fished Big Mill this morning as the wife wasn’t up for 7 hours of driving. Being her introduction to trout fishing she’s now an addict.

It looks like half a dozen sticks of dynamite there in the plastic bag. Well, it saves on lost tackle.

Tackle ain’t cheap man! Staring into that clear water makes dynamite a temptation when the fish won’t bite, that’s for sure. To me though, there’s not many sensations that compare to setting a hook; maybe putting a monster whitetail in the crosshairs or zeroing in on a tree rat...maybe.

A t/c contender would do well for me as this state is pretty handgun friendly for deer season.
.....but please, dont get me interested in one. I havent even picked up my last gun from the lgs yet!
I have a self-imposed one gun/year rule. I am up to three already and its June.

We need a fishing sub-forum.
