I've cut back. I still pop in and put a couple mags downrange every so often, but it's been only a couple mags, and only on the one pistol I've designated for primary defense. I used to bring multiple pistols to the range, and go through maybe half a case easy. I had been in a habit of taking, say, five or so at a time, and comparing them for accuracy.
Early in Covid, I went ahead and got a C308 (Cetme style rifle), I did get some ammo and went through the break in period with it. Shot until I got it running consistently. The more I shot it, the smoother it ran.
Last couple times I've been (my range is also my FFL), they've been swamped. People everywhere, milling about, buying at the counter, all lanes full of shooters. People working there were harried and stressed. Not an atmosphere I want to be dealing with. So I get in and do what I need, and get out. I don't like that, it's been my fun place.
