Any chance Glock would make a single stack .40 S&W like the 43 or 48? I am guessing no demand for Glock to make it worth their while, or am I missing something here?

I can never guess what those guys are going to do. I never thought the Glock 44 would be a thing for example. But a single stack .40 is waaaaaaaaay down my list of potential new Glock offerings.

A new ban and/or a trend against the 9mm for some reason would basically be required IMO.

I agree with 1Kperday - .40 S&W has just fallen out of favor within the last 3-4 years in particular. But if a 10-round limit ever passes again I'd expect it and .45 ACP to become more popular in full sized/duty guns again. If you're limited to 10 rounds you may as well carry 10 powerful rounds.
Good point about the mag limits. I hope that NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. I can live without a single stack Glock in 40 S&W if that what it takes.

Unlikely to happen, but it would be great. I’ve been a deputy for over a decade and up until a year ago was issued a Glock 40. Make no mistake about it, the transition to the 9 was due to smaller framed (basically less grip strength) cops not handling the recoil of the .40 well. Unfortunately the non cop folks follow our trend think we’re on to something (we’re not).

In a more perfect world, I would pack a .357 Sig at work. There are no magic bullets or calibers, but bigger and or faster is better when the chips are down if the person behind the handgun is proficient with the weapon.

I bought a Glock 48 because it's a perfect fit for my hand while the double stack Glocks aren't. If Glock brought out a .40 cal version I would buy one immediately. I ain't holding my breath though.

I don't care if they do. I suppose some folks would buy one but I'd have no use for one. A Glock 23 is about the right size IMO, not that I really want one of them, either.

I would like to see one, but unfortunately it probably won't happen, or if it does, it won't happen anytime soon. Glock hasn't released any new model chambered in .40 for a LONG time, they really do push the 9mm. There are single stack .40's out there, I've had a few but probably the best one is the XDs from Springfield and if you remember, at first they didn't plan on an XDs in .40 (just 9mm and .45) but eventually they did. It's not G43 small but it's small enough to work well for pocket use.

A single stack 40 glock would make sense, but honestly, the shield is just as good a platform, and it already exists in 40.

I you want a bigger bore single stack Glock, have you tried a G36?

Have Two minor complaints RE: my beloved G36's.

1. Rather have an 8-round .40/180 gr. mag than the 6-round .45 ACP/ 230 gr.
Both are 400 lb-ft subsonic, and the extra Two rounds would be comforting insurance w/ no size or weight penalty.

2. The grip is a hair long for my hand and the palm-swell is excessive.
Works, but just barely. The G23.4 comes to hand nicer, and that ease would be a plus in the slim G36 frame. Am to the point of either facing the stipple off the palm-swell, or drilling it out all together with a 7/16 hole.

Other than that, it is a carry pistol wonder.

The little pm40 is a nice pistol but it is a handful. Shoot, if possible, before buying. If Glock ever made a .40 again I would think they would want to return to a three pin frame.

Except that the g36 is Basically the same size as my g23, I would like something the same size as a 43 in .40

"Basically" and "similar" are not right next to each other on these pistols.

Started w/ the G23, and transitioned to the G36 because of the differences - and caliber wasn't one of'em.

Weight, thickness, and ease, stability, and comfort of carry in a suede IWB holster at ~3:30 were.

Interesting, thanks for posting that. I didn’t realize there was so much difference in the grips. Huge capacity difference, though. I would like to try a g36

Slim, lightweight spare mags was also a consideration.

:D

They are not, however, std. Glocks.

They require that you drive your thumb forward, to square the knuckles and close around the backstrap.

Otherwise, they shoot like crap.

I generally shoot one-handed, as it is an SD pistol, and with proper grip, it is no less precise than the G23.

And, for a suede IWB carry, the Rhinoplasty is a big plus.
