Might get your chance if you wait long enough. I want another scope for my ul ar upper, so I can move the 2-7x33 to my .350 legend.
After I buy the barrels for my American I'll see about getting one of those on order, and you can check it out first.
Ya I'd like to go to over one good, I've read the turrets are great. Most say the glass is very good but a few said no, one even said his vx-1 was better. I've seen some screen shots and it looks really clear for its size, or even a normal scope. People just see scopes different so can't take what someone says with a grain of salt.

A lot bring up the eye relief, they say it's much worse on 10 compared to the other powers. But for a ar you need very little eye relief so it would be great. A lightweight 6 arc would be nice, but don't think anyone is making a light 18-20 inch yet.

Swfa has a nice deal now, $379 and you get a areo mount a hat and patch.

You were mentioning that you needed to save up for the new rifle/scope. Have you considered selling something you've got now to finance a higher grade new one? Either caliber you're looking at would most likely work for any bigger game you'll likely hunt.

At one time I thought I needed one of everything. I had over 70 guns. I finally figured out that I nearly always grabbed my favorite and I had many others that never got touched except to oil them and then put them away.

I wish I had used the money to pay for hunting trips instead. Now at 70 years old, I'm too old to take the elk hunt I always dreamed of and the guns are gone.

I have a few guns of like to sell, 2 are just a old sxs 12ga that needs fixing that I'm tired of messing with. The other is a old mossberg bolt 22 that parted together, either aren't worth more them $100 the 22 probably $50 if lucky.

I have a nice long branch #4mk1* is like to sell, selling guns local is about impossible anymore.

I have been trying to get better guns so I can have less, I've never really had anything good. I've had good shooters but more that looked and cost like barn guns lol.

I bought a Kimber model 84 classic in 7mm08 years ago, for my in daughter. She thought she wanted to hunt with me, so she could spend time with me. Turns out she didn’t like hunting. I started hunting with the little Kimber and found it to be a light, easy to carry and easy shooting rifle. I have never had a deer walk more than a few yards and most just drop where they stand. It is just something magic about a 7mm, 140 grain bullet. It works well on game and out of the 7mm08 it is very easy to shoot. I think Kimbers are excellent rifles.

Ya something about a 140 7mm at that speed just works really well. I'd like to find a classic but there super rare to see used or even new here. I funny since there made here.

I've had to work really hard to not buy a classic off GunBroker more than once.... actually there's been a few kimbers I've started to buy. The only thing that's saved me, much like the Ruger African in 6.5x55 or .280ai, is the wing safety....the more I play with my sister in laws Winchester, the less I like them.

The wing safety is part of the reason that I never really fell in love with the model 70 and 77 that I have owned. I like the looks of the rifles and never heard anything bad about the Kimbers. If you like the safety it should be a great rifle!

I like a wing better then the side safety, a remington side is ok but hate the rocker type like the tikka and fn mausers.

Really like the fell and use of a tang safety, but adds weight cost and complexity to a rifle. Worth it to me,

Oh I a note on the Kimber wing, it's bolt unlock position isn't real positive, at least on the 84s. All of the ones I've handled, you had to pay attention to where the middle position was. IMO it's not a real issue, as you shouldn't really be LOOKING for the middle position under stress, but for folks used to the hard position stops on a win70 or Ruger 77, it may feel a little.......vague.

Only reason I don't like the wings is I can't run them from a firing position with my thumb. All the other safeties I can take off, and put back on with the rifle shouldered and ready to fire. Can't reach the wings to get them back on, and I have to flip them off, can't ride them forward.

Most scope I just leave at 4x even looking over a field, I'll turn it up if needed but rather not even touch it. Like I said a nice fixed 4x would be great for me.

Shooting a lot of aperture sighted rifles - the scoped rifle zoom is usually left at the bottom, and doesn't come up unless there is some solid support.

The muscle/movement calibration, and precision, gets worse the higher it is.

Do you have the 2.5-8 or the 3-10 I know 8 power is plenty but wonder if the 40mms maybe better in low light then the 36mm. We can't shoot before and after legal light so I've never had any problems seeing deer but if I'm think wood it gets darker quicker.

I think my scope is a 4.5 x 10. I have several 2 x 7 Leopold’s and they are good scopes for what they are but if you get a 300 yard shot you’ll be happy you have the larger scope.

And do you think it's worth the extra for the mountain accent,

If you’re old like me and walk up and down steep mountains like I do when hunting I appreciate the light weight of the mountain ascent. The Mont. in 308 is pretty light already though. If I was 20 years younger I wouldn’t care.
