Walther PPK 1935

That is very nice and $1,000 is about right in normal times. What I call a "real" PPK is hard to come by. 40 years ago I traded a Mini 14 and $200 for a post war in 22LR with box and docs. That's when Minis were a hot ticket and $200 was a lot of money. One of the few guns I regret letting go but I made money on the deal.

Most of those PPKs will shoot pretty good. Dr friend came by the farm two weeks ago with his wife, so they could shoot on my range. I set them up 15 yards out from the berm with targets. neither he or the wife could keep the two Glock 22 LR guns on a sheet of paper. He loaded up a mag for the new PPK and the wife put the entire mag into a tennis ball size group. Told ger to put the Glock in the sock drawer and carry the PPK as her CWP gun.

I got one of those myself earlier this year, same vintage, also paid about a grand for mine (got it off Gunbroker, so that includes shipping and such). The quality of craftsmanship and construction are unparalleled; I try to compare my S&W PPK to it and I just can't, because the S&W is a sad, pale shadow in comparison.

Do they bite the folks not paying attention and leave two stripes in the web of your hand like PPK/S's?

Forgetting on that first shot was painful.
