Took out my 2 Colts today. Top is my 1939 Official Police Heavy Barrel. I got it lettered this year, Below is my new 2020 Python.

The old one has a lighter SA trigger; the letter says 3.5 pounds but it feels much less than that. I would almost call it close to a hair trigger. New Python's SA is heavier, but the double action is where they are different, with the Python having a very smooth and light DA pull, which lets a mediocre shooter like me do pretty well with it.

PS: grips are shiny because they are coated in ballistol.

I have a Colt OP HB of similar vintage, I think '41 or early '42.

A truly outstanding handgun, and was carried as my sidearm on my last successful elk hunt.

Always find it interesting that when police weren't
weighted down, or helped, by the modern equipment,
they could carry a "heavy" pistol without as much
undue stress.

Six in the gun, six in loops or a drop pouch, a pair
of cuffs and a ticket book with pen/pencil--ready for
a day of crime fighting. :)

Oops, forgot the night stick or sap.
