Guess I'm out of touch, but I had no clue such a thing existed. I mean, yeah, the wartime models and all...but new production?
Stopped in a very small (literally only about 120sq. feet of floor space) today, and I've never been so impressed with a shop's selection of 1911's. Probably 20 or more new Colt 1911's, including 4 in .38 Super. I've never seen a .38 Super in a shop. Also never seen a P210 in a shop, but they had at least one.

In a display right near all the Colts, I saw a very stunning 1911 with Ithaca Gun Company stamped on the slide. Thought it was intriguing at least, so looked closer. They had 5 of them, ranging from $1700ish right on up to around $2400. I'm not in that market, but does anyone have any experience with them?

The new production Ithaca 1911s are built to MUCH tighter specs than the G.I. issue guns. The company has also started production of the old Ithaca Model 37 pump shotguns. They're not economically priced either. They have a website.

Their 1911’s are excellent firearms. I’ve seen some and shot one. Easy gun to fall for.

No first hand experience with the new Ithaca 1911s but at those prices they better be ready to go right out of the box! For that kind of money I would sooner be looking at a Dan Wesson.

I'd love to have a DW 1911 someday. But the Ithaca at the $2400 price point...man. I only saw it through the glass case I kinda steamed up, but it was a beaut.

I wish one of these companies would turn out a double stack ....I spent an hour perusing their site, and I want a few things they offer....with come custom touches.

Looks all us made.

The new Ithaca 1911's in no way resemble their WW2 products. (I have one of the latter.) If you want a WW2 clone, your best bet is to get a Thompson / Kahr and replace a few parts. And yes, the Thompson / Kahrs are made in the USA.

There was a nice model 37 at my local dealer. By the time I asked about,it was gone. It had sat there for years. The 1911’s look nice. Too rich for me, but glad they are out there. The 1911, a true American legend.

Not many reviews of the new 1911s except for when they first came out at their new factory in Ohio about five years ago. I'm intrigued by the new 1911s which seems to be very well made. Wish there were more current reviews.

I think there were a couple on Utube. I have read a review in a gun rag and they rated it "very good". I have not seen one on the range yet. There is a video on Utube about their new plant in Sandusky and it looks very modern with LOTS of new CAD/CAM machines. Their machinists seem to know what they're doing. They're not building to a price point or going for max production rate. I would love to have a brand new Model 37 but I cannot bring myself to pay the price they're asking.

At those prices not many people have had or will ever have experience with them IMO

My brother has one and it is an exceptional firearms. Pricey but worth it. Shame they stopped making them.
