Tokarev ammo.

I got so frustrated looking for decent priced TOK brass that I went and ordered 500 from Star Line. I found that everyone is "OUT OF STOCK" except for Star Line!
I don't need 500 so I will sell lots of 100 at cost+shipping at cost to anyone who might want some here on THR.
MY efforts to load plated 32 acp bullets resized to .309 resulted in good loads, BUT that little bullet (71 grains) is holding onto the brass by it's fingernails. No a good thing. The brass grips it tight, but the connection bothers me. The little 32 pellets also shoot high just like my 30 carbine bullets, not all function the gun.

The only Broomhandles I've seen with any issues were clapped-out Chinese imports in crappy condition, and questionable springs and/or questionable Chinese replacement parts. Have you ever chrono'd European military 7.63 Mauser ammo? You will find it compares in velocity to your average East Bloc surplus Tokarev ammo. It's a pistol issue, not an ammo problem.

Back on point here ;)

We've discussed whether it's safe to shoot Tok in a broomhandle, a lot say no. Regardless to that, the idea of shooting Mauser ammo in a Tok- THAT should be fine.

NEW OUTLOOK ON 7.62x25 reloading.
This 5" snowfall and locked in discipline gave me much more time to experiment with re-loading this ammo. I have tried , in the past, to make 71 grain plated 32 caliber bullets work by resizing down to .3095". These failed to cycle the Romanian TTC action. The bullet was also not held very well by the brass as it has a very short neck.
I have very good luck with plated 30 cal 110 grain M1 carbine bullets. So I went back to work on the 32's.
I find by making the bell as small as possible I was able to seat these bullets very solidly in the brass and cranking up the powder charge, makes them function the pistol just fine.
So far 5.7 grains of Accurate #2 makes the gun function with these little pills. Next step is to Chrony them.
Others seem to feel I can use the full size .312" 32 plated bullets without sizing them down, but I prefer to be safe right now without slugging the bore. Maybe some time in the future winter months I can work up a load with them.
I am always on the lookout for others who have been down this road with similar guns and supplies.
