What are the best magazines that are 1) readily available and 2) not astronomically priced for a West German Sig P228? I just scored a KD date stamped specimen, but it only came with one 10 round magazine.

Top Gun Supply usually has 'em in stock $23.95, but puts them on sale for a couple bucks off, and IMO, TGS has about the fastest shipping there is -- I've ordered on a weekend, had the product in my mailbox (if it can be shipped USPS, like magazines can) on Wednesday. Notice TGS currently OOS, but they usually get products back in stock quickly.

The Mec-Gar 15-rounders (you can get the "Optimum" 18-rounders as well) are also, in my opinion, the best magazines made for the P-228.

Mec-Gars. Some of my Mec-Gars are 25 years old, and are still in reliable service. I just wish they made them for the P210 models...

In stock now, the best mags on the market for that trip to the range with your P-228 (and older 229s)... 18 rounds of goodness and less time spending loading up magazines.

Thanks again guys, I ended up scoring four of the MecGar 15 rounders. They look to be quality mags. Can't wait to get this gun out to the range to shoot.
