Just bought a box of old win small pistol mag primers. My guess is that they’ve sat in this store for 20 plus years. I’m assuming that they would still be good but wanted to ask anyways. Thanks.
They will be very bad and dangerous, you should send them to me immediately for proper safe disposal.
More realistically, if they have been stored in a cool-dry location they will work just fine. The enemy of primers (and ammo in general) is elevated temperatures and/or high humidity environments.
I just got back from the range testing some old CCI primers a friend gave to me. (The large rifle primers are really old, 70’s maybe?).
I fired 20 rounds of each in a Stag Model 6 5.56 and a PA-10 in .308 Win and they ran fine with same accuracy as my current stock of primers.
The cci 400's are not the best for 223 ar's. The primer is a little thinner than the mag primers (450) which are more common on 223 loads. I have some 400's that I use in bolt action loads.

I don’t use the CCI-400’s for 5.56 pressure loads in AR’s, but for milder .223 plinking loads, they have been fine in my experience. I plan to run the in my bolt action .223’s. Thought the AR would be a good test for them. I have a few thousand Remington 7 1/2 and Wolf .223 for higher pressure loads for the AR’s.
Thanks for the replies. I normally would not have bought a box of primers this old but in this market you take what scraps you find. At least I only paid $4 for them. I assume I could turn around and pay off my mortgage by selling them online.
