I live in Ohio and work in all three states you mention. As said...duty to inform in Ohio. As for school zones, you just can’t go into a school building. Being in a car waiting for your kid isn’t a problem....but I don’t get the impression that this is a concern for your purposes.

As for knives in Ohio... our CCW is not actually a CCW. It’s a CHL....concealed handgun license. Does NOT cover knives as weapons. You can carry a knife as a tool, but not a weapon so be careful how you would describe the purpose of your knife if ever questioned. You don’t need to alert LEO to your knife... unless you’re being frisked, but that has its own set of issues.

Print out the laws for each state for those in law enforcement that are ignorent of their states laws. Or have them available on your phone.

Ohio recently passed a law eliminating most of the restrictions on carrying knives of any kind (effective April 12, 2021) though there is no preemption law on knives so blade length restrictions that some municipalities have are still valid.
