Hello and well met friend! You have come in here with a lot of experience. You'll blend in well! I've been here a bit and I'm a plinker that isn't even reloading yet. Small house. For the most part, a friendly group. Lots of info. Hope you enjoy your membership here!
Ta
Thank you for your kind greeting. I really enjoy the input and comments from this fine group.
Never fear, shooting and reloading are contagious hobbies. Start out small and you’ll grow to love the experience of rolling your own! My kids, 2 daughters and a son still talk about sitting on dad’s lap and cranking out rounds.

Well I’m glad to finally sign up it’s been around 8yrs of reading post and just leaning what’s on this forum. But now would like to engage with all of you. Thanks for having me.

Newly to the scene as of last year to firearms in general, found this forum around that time when I was looking into reloading. With working at BPS, it has drawn me a bit closer to the industry, and especially with reloading. You'll probably see me around the reloading area more than likely! Glad to of finally registered.

It's good to hear from you, KeeperOfScrolls. We're glad you found us. There are many new faces around here these days, and that's a good thing. You may want to check out the THR primer in the general gun discussion section, then you are set. Please understand that although we try to help each other, sometimes the "help" is a bit rough around the edges. Like any community, we have all kinds of members. Hit the report button if problems are noted. Enjoy!

What do you all call a guy that joined in 2013 but has never posted? New(ish)? Creeper? ATF? lol...j/k on the last one (I mean two). Lurked for about a year and then joined in 2013 because I was going to ask some questions but ended up getting the questions answered on another forum. Lately I've been doing some more digging/research on some topics and this site keeps popping up in my google searches. I was for sure I had registered once before here. After a password reset, I'm have now officially posted. A lot of good information from a lot of knowledgeable people on this site. Hope to contribute a little myself in the future.

Introductions are a forgotten branch of good manners, which are in general disrepair anyway in these times. While folks are welcome to lurk, creep, or stand by, we appreciate getting to know you a little better and appreciate you rolling up your sleeves and helping others who are in search of experience-based information. Thanks for the sign-on, and I hope you continue to enjoy your time with us.

Many times over the years, I have found myself reading posts here at THR while searching gun related info on the i’net. I thought I’d join up so I can post once in awhile, look at attachments, dive in a bit deeper, etc. Thanks to all for keeping it going.
Welcome to the crew, surfsup1955. We are pleased that we have been useful over the years, and happier still that you decided to sign on. We couldn't be a good resource without the experience and wisdom new members bring.

Hello, I'm new to reloading and stumbled onto your reloading forum. Fantastic resource. I have my Rockchucker supreme installed but waiting on my rcbs 308 and Lee dlux 9mm dies. Looking forward to contributing and collaborating with you all!
That's how I came across this site as well. I think I lurked and revisited for two years before finally registering. This is a very informative and polite forum. Welcome!

Hello everyone. I've been reading and learning from posts on this forum for years and finally decided to make an account here. A bit about myself: I started shooting when I was 6 years old and have been an avid hunter for about as long. I mainly collect and shoot vintage shotguns, but I do own a rifle I shoot on occasion as well. I am a volunteer Hunters Education instructor and have helped other instructors teach classes for years before I was old enough to become an instructor. I also enjoy fixing broken firearms and repairing small engines. I look forward to learning as much as I can from other members of this forum.

Hey guys, just wanted to pop up here and introduce myself. My name is Kuba, I live in the Czech Republic and my lifetime passion are guns - mainly the Czech and Czechoslovak.

If anybody is interested in the topic you can check my YouTube channel where I share with you the details that are unfortunately unavailable in any other language than Czech :)

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
Not a new member but don't post for some reason. My name is Matthew Sharp from Illinois. Favorite gun=Browning M1919. Rifle of choice=Tikka .223 handgun of choice=Springfield Armory 5.25" 9mm

Hello, Matthew. Welcome to post or not, whatever works best for you. Thank you for the introduction. I hope you enjoy the community and that we can help from time to time. I hope your experience will be helpful to others as well.

Hi there!

My wife and I are novice shooters, mostly plinking with bb’s and 22’s when we go camping. We recently took a trip out to go shooting with her folks and they re-invigorated our interest in guns and target shooting. It’s so fun!

She’s interested in rifles and shotguns, mostly traditional fare (Winchesters and Marlins peaked her interest) while I’m into wheel guns like black powder replicas and old school revolvers.

I found your message board when researching my great grandfather’s revolver that I just restored from a rusty mess.

We’re excited to become a part of your community and be more informed and responsible gun owners.

Thanks!

It's good to hear from you, Jim. We are glad you both are back in touch with the shooting sports. There is joy to be had in restoring heirlooms, trying new challenges and figuring out the mechanics and the mental game. Many of us learned to shoot and enjoyed it, but lost that as we attended school or moved to the city or started a family. Congratulations and welcome to our community!

With millions of new gun owners, THR expects to welcome at least of few of them along with those who have shooting or collecting for years.

Please take note of the rules. We really do expect members will uphold their promise to be civil with each other. As a family friendly site that welcomes the great wide range of shooters and collectors we also ask everyone be mindful that everyone here has every sort of background and the full range of beliefs (including some mild Antis and plenty of undecided). Try to show them the myths about gun owners being vulgar, crude, prejudiced, misogynistic, and unwelcoming are all false. If we can win people over by upholding what we all agreed to then we can protect our rights and our interests.

Hi

Relative newbie here. I'm into both rifles and pistols, and hope to contribute as well as learn. I'm also learning a lot about knives and quality knife steel. There is obviously a lot of knowledgeable folks here, and I do have a few questions about the AR15 in particular. I'll try not to ask too many questions at once... Russ

Thank you for the intro, Russ. We are happy to have you on board. Standard ARs are relatively simple, but who wants a standard AR? :D Anyway, you should get some help here without the added testosterone found in some settings. Wise to dip your toe in the water before diving in. Any community has folks that can be a mite tetchy, but if you read the room and are patient they can save you lots of wasted time and effort. Enjoy!
