Guessin' you'd think I paid too much for this, then...

Recon not, if you gave under a G fer it. What I meant was, There is not a $200 +value difference between an FN 509 MRD and the tactical model other than a threaded barrel and rear sight wings that most likely will be removed anyway for an RDS. Most, if not all of the major brands have started producing both for a good while now. I rather prefer my 509 over the tactical model for the recessed crown protection on the muzzle end.

One more thing Dog, Yours should say "ICON", not tactical, as nothing can compare to a 1911.

The H&K P7 PSP squeeze cocking pistol.
The one with the oddball gas system that needs special maintenance.
Dang the price tags these things sport.

If one wants to use his suppressor then the threaded barrel is pretty handy. Lol. Either pay the 200 for tactical model or pay 200 for an aftermarket barrel that may or may not be reliable.

So... Anything tactical unless you want a suppressor host :D

A better explanation for over priced guns is the fact our dollar is basically worthless. If you think about the guns value vs the dollar most guns are really bargains. Go buy a new truck. That will make you see just how worthless our dollar has become. $60,000 dollars should buy a house.

Before the pandemic I would say Berettas seem overpriced for what they are and how long they have been in production.
It’s interesting you say that. In the mid ‘90s, a new Beretta 92 retailed for $500. Before the present panic pricing, you could buy a new Beretta 92 for... around $500.

But if you factor in inflation, that $500 in 1995 is worth $858 in 2021 dollars. And most production handguns have followed that trend, becoming less expensive in real cost.

Most things 10mm fall into the stupid money category. Some more so than others.

A surprising gun though, the chipmunk 22 pistol I bought in the fall for $159 is now selling over $300. No thanks.

Beretta 92s in my area were 600ish pre pandemic. A commercial M9 has gone up to 700 at my LGS. Oddly, one of the less inflated prices so far.

“Over Priced” is in they eye of the beholder and totally subjective.

Personally, I have paid what others would consider to be “too much” for something I truly wanted with no regrets.

I would probably never pay the prices asked for many of the higher end guns listed in this thread because I don’t want any of them to begin with, but that doesn’t mean they are over priced, in my opinion.

My vote would be for the HK SP5K-PDW. They're currently selling for close to 2X the already high $2949.00 MSRP. At least with the HK you're getting a really awesome gun. I saw a Ft. Smith PPK/S with a $999.00 tag on it the other day.

As stated above, Korth probably owns this, in terms of being factory produced, as opposed to one-off custom builds.
Mateba will not be far behind.

If we are looking at historically, the Swiss-made/issued P-210 are in the ludicrous price range.

I saw one on Gb a 70's era one they wanted $10,000 for! Ouch! They are cool but not that cool!
Now, there are some legitimate Pythons in the 5 digit range--but they are the near-unicorn Pythons in .38spl, which were only offered for about a year at the very beginning of Python production.
There are rumors that there are factory Pythons in .22lr; but most folks ascribe that's either to inebriation, or Colt Custom Shop work.

Every gun I bid on is overpriced... according to my wife, that is. ;).

I will say that any gun I really, really want seems to be one several other people with greater means really, really want, too. I usually lose these auctions, but the rare one I win does make some of my buys a bit steeper than I intended it to be. :(

Oh well, I’ll survive. :)

Stay safe.

Hmmmmmm,, What special maintenance is that exactly? I have two of them and there is no "special" maintenance required.

Have you handled one? Used Korth .22s can be had for about $2K, what people are paying for an inferior new Python.

No I haven’t, my LGS has one for just over $5,000 but I haven’t been interested enough to handle it. Before anyone takes offense, just because I feel something is over priced, Korth, Freedom Arms, Colt etc..etc... sure doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to own one some day and some day I probably will from the three manufacturers I just mentioned.

I'm with George. The P7 is one of the few guns that you can overpay on and be glad you did. I cost myself a bunch looking for a sub $1K P7 bargain. I finally gave up and overpaid and couldn't be happier.
Glad I bought my last one for $600 from an estate sale..............
