Make sure the gas port is clean, springs aren't worn, and the piston are aligned properly

So here are pictures of the action bar and trigger mech.
It does not appear that there is any damage to the forend support.
The only thing I notice is that one of the trigger plate pin detent springs is missing, which has not caused 100_3603.JPG 100_3604.JPG an issue.
I have cleaned the mag tube, I suppose replacing the spring will be next?

Yeah, replacing it is cheap insurance. Same with the action spring and at least it's retaining pin, those tend to bend. The follower would be next if it's worn excessively.

I went down and played with my 1100. OP do a quick test. Load some dummy shell into the magazine.

If you push the shell lifter up and look at the last shell in the magazine the shell should be retained by the primary/right shell shell latch.

Primary shell latch retaining the shell near the top of the shell in this picture.

Next if you open the bolt a shell should be released from the magazine onto the shell lifter, though if done manually your bolt will remain locked back but there should be a shell laying on the lifter. It is a pain to do it but if you push the lifter up at this point (holding the bolt back manually if needed) you should be able to see that the next shell in the magazine is being retained by the secondary shell latch.

As the bolt goes home the secondary shell latch should release the shell by rotating the end touching the shell down toward the bottom of the receiver allow the shell to move past it and out of the magazine slightly and then being stopped again by the primary shell latch (as in the first picture) by the time the bolt is home. This may point you to which shell latch is not allowing shell to escape the magazine.

If they have reached the end of their life, I have stretched them out before and reinstalled them. They work long enough for the new one to arrive, have done the same with other magazine springs as well.
