Hi all,
I just bought an old Remington 1100 (made in 1968). The small metal edge on the top inside portion of the receiver (the part that I *think* hits the top edge of the locking block assembly to stop the bolt's backward progress) has a small gouge in it. It almost looks like the locking block assembly may have gouged it. It's not a big gouge... but it exposed the raw silver metal, and is a bit rough to the touch.
Is this something to be concerned about? What would you suggest I do? Anything? Nothing? Maybe smooth it out a bit with a dremel? Keep in mind that I haven't fired this 1100 yet. I'm still in the process of cleaning it, and replacing the big springs and o-ring. Thanks for the help!
