After a 3 day delay Uncle Joe finally let me take it home.

I’ve been wanting a full size CZ and this one certainly checks that box. I’m very happy with it so far. Typical CZ quality and design.

I have catcher’s mitts for hands so I don’t find it too big. It’s actually pretty comparable to my wife’s PCR

It is heavy too, but I was looking for something substantial. 2 1/2 lbs unloaded

My plan is to get to the range tomorrow and shoot it and a recently acquired Beretta 92fs that I haven’t shot yet. I’ll follow up here with my observations

Enjoy. You’ll love it! Mine gets shot a lot!

I got one of the newer ones with the aluminum panels. Swapped those out for rubbers and it feels like it was made for my hands. I wear xl with long skinny fingers.

Nice , I really like CZ's
I bought my first CZ 75 sp01 a year or two ago and now I have 4 CZ's
They are great guns

My range is on the way to work so I stopped this morning to take the new off of it

Let me preface by saying I’m not deft with the pistol. I was good enough to qualify expert every year in the Army, which really isn’t that difficult.

Distance was 30’ shot standing with my Xtreem plated bullets/HP38 hand loads (don’t recall my load data).

1st 10 rounds seemed to be shooting high, which again could be all my technique

I aimed a bit lower for the 2nd 10 rounds

And the 3rd 10 rounds

Bottom line: I could shoot this pistol all day and have a blast doing it. The size and weight make recoil almost non existent. I’m sure with some practice and a little load development I could shrink the groups considerably. Very happy with it.

Congrats! My slide is at CGW as we speak, getting the E bushing upgrade. Mine was quite loose, and I’m sure my groups will tighten up.

That's what we want to hear after your first range visit...certainly the accuracy potential is there!

And if you're happy then we're all happy too! Just continue shooting and keep us updated with any future developments.

Like I said before, I want to have mine hard chromed, e-bushing'd and trigger reach reduction kit and some trigger work.

@Nature Boy how was the double action and single action on your example?

In talking with CGW they say it's easy for them to get a 6lb/3lb, DA/SA respectively on the 97b's, with a smooth pull on the DA. I guess these are getting some more attention these days according to them.

Wood grips on CZ 97 are CA complaint models.

The 97 and 75 share the same action, trigger parts interchange.

Mine has been modified for a 1911 bushing and trigger work with CZ custom sights. Mine breaks at around 6lbs in da and just under 3 in sa.

If one went with a SAO conversion, Pre B sear and race hammer, you'd have a trigger that beats most 1911s.

If you ever have the slightest chance to get your hands on one of them - DO IT !!!
Oschatz Sport
6" slide hand fitted
Barrel bushing also hand fitted
unbelievable SAO trigger
Satin finish
Nill grip

Sounds like the perfect recipe for a top notch target pistol!

And nice to look at too, especially with that satin finish and those Nill grips!
