Welcome, sigwally! Thanks for the intro. You must be a patient guy to enjoy those BP revolvers. We are delighted that you found us and decided to join up. There's a lot of experience and wisdom here, but sometimes it's well hidden behind pride and prejudice, as with most communities. For the most part we are positive, respectful and made better by folks like you. Thanks for serving our country, and I hope you enjoy THR.

Hi everybody ! I am not a new shooter , I shoot for 30+ years and started reloading at the same time .
I pretty much shoot whatever makes boom :) (22lr up to 460 Weatherby)

I joined the forum because after a couple of years shooting 45-70 out of my Marlin 1895 I want to try out the Sharps rifles.
I do shoot BP but have never reloaded BP in cartridges and need advice and guidance .I have read a lot of forum posts and feel now the needs to post my questions and comments.
Greetings from Arizona.

Welcome to the group, Old Shatterhand. The more the merrier, and I hope you find the help you are seeking. The Sharps sounds like a lot of fun. I also enjoy launching 405 grains downrange from my 1895, but the buffalo gun really kicks it up a notch. Thanks for the intro, and happy charcoal burning!

Hi everyone my name is Kevin I'm 25 years old! I am a hunter, I like to watch birds and play with my dog.I hope to find friends here.

Welcome, Kevin. We are glad you could join us! Many of us enjoy our dogs, and enjoy watching wildlife of all kinds. There are many good people here that will be happy to help answer questions and share their experiences. Thank you for signing on and I hope you will enjoy time spent with us.

New member here. From S. AZ. Long time gun owner, and reloader, I've been reloading about 30 years. Started when I was in the Army and was stationed in places where you couldn't buy handgun ammo under 21...but you could buy powder, primers, and projectiles..so my first reloading was 38/357 on a RCBS partner press for a couple of years, then I bought one of the original Dillon RL450's with my first reenlistment bonus...and never looked back. My taste in guns spans just about everything....from a Barrett MRAD in .338 LM, to a collection of CZ pistols from WWII to present, to lever guns, to AR SBR's in multiple calibers. I'm also a suppressor junky.

Eric, we are delighted to add you to the crew. Thanks for the intro. It sounds like you have plenty of history and experience, so we hope you will make yourself at home. Enjoy!

Greetings, all. I can't even tell you how many times I've searched for info about a particular gun and ended up at the thehighroad, reading through an old thread. Why did I wait so long to register?

I've been a gun owner for about 30 years. What began as a desire to own a handgun for self defense gradually turned into a collection of modern and vintage pistols and long guns. I love learning about the history of my Mauser WTP1, for example, as much as I love blasting out the bullseye with my Springfield XDM. In short, I'm a gun nerd.

Welcome, allergygal. You are our kind of people. Thanks for the intro. I hope that we can continue to be useful, and I am sure your experience and help will be appreciated by others. Now I have to go look up Mauser WTP1, which is part of the joy of learning we seem to share.

Hello everyone
Thank you for having me here
I practice the PRS and the long range , the F-Class does not exist yet in our poor country;) , I reload all my ammo, rifle and rifle semi auto
I also like spending time at the balltrap and with my hand guns
As soon as I can I go to Pennsylvania to friends for fun and also to heat the credit card in the gunsmith
In fact I should have been born in the USA not in France, my passion would be cheaper and there would be more possibilities
Life is hard: rofl:

Pennstate67, welcome to our group! You probably appreciate the shooting sports more because it is a greater challenge, but we are certainly happy to share them with you. France has many wonderful aspects and people, but shooting sports have a unique standing in the American society. Thank you for introducing yourself, and we hope you enjoy THR.

Hello,
Thanks for the add. I'm Michael 20 year retired Navy Veteran, with a history of shooting Trophy Cup, IPSC/USPSA, small bore and sport hunting upland birds and big game.
I reload and have worked my own firearms mostly 1911 and variants. I like old military classic weapons and had a FFL for about a decade, Deadeye Pete's was my business name, hence the handle. I'm on a few 1911 and M1A forums also, same moniker. Endowment Member NRA,NRA/ILA, American Legion, VFW, Eagles, 2nd Amendment Foundation.
Cheers.
Michael

Michael, welcome aboard. You should be an excellent fit with THR, and your experience will certainly be an asset. Thanks for serving, and thanks for the intro. Enjoy!

la belle France is complicated--the shooters I know from there are committed, sensible, and dedicated; yet, must needs not talk about it with common folk.
Luckily, you need not hide your passion among us; we will revel in it as you do.
Besides, you can still get 9x19 ammo, unlike us--we have to curb our jealousy. [:)]

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
Hello, I'm new to forum discussions. I love guns, I hunt, shoot, and reload. I'm always looking for info to better myself in any way possible.

Hello, I'm new to forums, but I love guns, shooting and reloading. I also love leaning, because that's the foundation of life.

Hello, Sparkee. Thanks for signing on. You'll get the hang of it in no time. Meanwhile, take a little time to look around and see what interests you. Enjoy!

Hello CapnMac
Indeed our passion is expensive, full of constraint and Big Brother watches
To live happily live hidden!
We are about 220,000 sports shooters and 1 million hunters
Fortunately in Europe there is an industry for the production of ammunition, but with what is happening in the USA prices increase a little
I recharge my ammo so let’s go :):)

Hi I'm not a newbie but I haven't posted in a long while.
Just thought I would get on & find out what Biden is going to do with our gun laws.
Welcome back! You are welcome to speculate along with everyone else, but as we read today he is talking about taking long-threatened measures to "control gun violence" by installing a head of ATF that was on the Giffords payroll in recent years, restricting pistol braces (which have not figured in any media event I am aware of except possibly the Boulder one that just occurred) and requiring more background checks. That may take some pressure off from the peanut gallery, and response will likely affect character and timing of round 2.

Same here - not necessarily "new" - just haven't had a chance to get on in a long while due to busy work schedules. Looking for convos around the new admin and also see how many other people had the misfortune of a boating accident on Jan 19th this year.

We're glad to have you all the same. Discussions will happen, but politics being as divisive as they are, generally are best discussed elsewhere. Here we try to keep things civil and exchange information on firearms, associated pursuits, and a few odds and ends. Enjoy!

Hello, I actually created a login a few years ago, but the first post I seen had a lot of drama in it, so I didn't really spend much time here. I decided to take a look around again and things seem civil here. A lot better than many other forums. I'm pretty low-keyed and just looking for a place to discuss guns, shooting sports, hunting and so forth. To learn and also provide help where I can. I have a lot of experience big game hunting with rifle/bow, long range shooting, and love fishing for just about anything. My wife and I do a fair amount of Steel Challenge, as drag racing with .22's is a blast for us. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know the site and hope its a good fit for me. Thanks
