I’m eyeing one of these guys for a new mule deer rifle. Are they a blued or cerakote (I’ve read contradicting specs). How is the quality of the stock?

The stock is the same, just with a textured finish paint job which provides a better grip and some other color options. The stock is probably the best factory synthetic you'll find.

I can't help with metal finish.

In theory the fluted barrel and bolt should mean a lighter rifle. But if you believe the specs they are actually a bit heavier than the standard rifle. Perhaps the muzzle break adds weight that offsets the fluting.

I don't know what the street prices are on this rifle, but I paid $600 for my blue 308 and $500 for the 6.5 CM. The 6.5 was technically a used rifle, but it still had the factory hang tags and had never been scoped. Still had the plastic plugs in the scope mounting holes. They typically sell for about $750 in SS. I'm not interested in the muzzle break. I can buy textured paint at Home Depot for under $10 a can.

I have the stock on 2 Sako A7’s I own and I think it’s one of the best synthetic stocks out there. I like the feel and texture and it’s good in wet weather. ‘Don’t know anything about that particular rifle.

The ones I've seen and handled in my local Scheel's were blued. The stock is very good for a synthetic - nicely grippy but not overly "sticky" texture.
